I fluctuate from not at all to early March.

I'll be optimistic and say 3/6.

I would be pretty disappointed if after all this, he just didn't come back for any reason that's not a setback. Like yeah obviously if something, god forbid, goes wrong and he has a major setback, of course play it safe and get him ready for 2026-2027. But if he can come back some point in March and has met those milestones, but is still held back by ownership or he chooses to not return then I'd be disappointed. I do think this team can make a run in this East if JT comes back, even if he only has a month to "warm up" before the postseason.

Sun March 22nd vs Minn

This would be the 1st of a three game home stand. Would give the Cs 12 games to acclimate to Tatum being back before the post season starts.

Think this team is going to want more excuses for $ managing instead of making moves to win. They will hold Tatum out.

Don't they make more money the further they go in the playoffs?

What's the financial incentive to keeping him out?
They are going to the playoffs regardless.

The further they go the more revenue they make.  I'm sure it impacts season ticket renewals, prices, etc.  I can't think of a financial motive to not bring him back.

He is going to be limited if back that's how it works. You are not getting "Tatum, top five player" for 38+ minutes each game. You would be getting "Tatum, 25-50ish top player" for  20 minutes or less every other game. NBA players and ex management people have made this clear. We can hope for more but under those assumptions he will likely be held out.

That's different than your original point, thought, that Tatum won't come back because management is cheap.

Boston Celtics: Jayson Tatum will be assigned to participate in portions of the @MaineCeltics practice at the Auerbach Center this afternoon. Following this practice, Tatum will be immediately recalled to the Boston Celtics, where he will continue his rehab process.

Another non-update. Thanks, Roy!

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

It would be pretty cool if played a game for Portland.

I know that won?t happen like they do in MLB, but it would be cool.
Yup

Graduating from going against coaches to G-Leaguers is a big step!

It does confirm though he will definitely be coming back this season. The official account and all the reporters reporting this further clarifies it.

Question still remains when. I'm still predicting March 4.

They are cheap and Tatum is their excuse. It has been since the team was bought.
