The real question is do they try to get below the tax line. It would probably take moving Hauser to do it.

Agbaji is now a Net and makes 6.3 million.  Him for Hauser would do it.  A trade like that could work at least in theory.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

TP to whoever finds out what the rest of the Boucher trade is.

"Due to that move to cut Ball, the Jazz had an open roster spot to use at their disposal before the trade deadline hit, allowing them to take in Boucher without sending another player to Boston."

Something else has to be involved, by rule.  A pick, cash, something.

Really do not want to get rid of Hauser to save some billionaire a few bucks.

Hauser is too valuable as a 3 and D guy. I'd only trade him if we could get something better in return, not for salary cap purposes.

With the Boucher trade, we're now at 13 rostered players.  League rules stipulate 14, but there is a two-week grace period.  I read yesterday that it would take JT two weeks of practicing to be ready.  #interesting

My guess is that we wait two weeks, then sign Ron Harper Jr. to an NBA deal.

The way he played last night - that?s a real possibility

Possible 13th man instead of Shulga.  Explains why Amari Williams was immediately given a 15-man roster spot, since they needed a 2-way open.

Boucher is a nice pickup for Utah.

They lost some PF depth when they traded away Slow-Mo and G Niang. Boucher can provide some cover there.

G: K George, I Collier
G: Svi, Ace Bailey
F: L Markkanen, B Sensabough
F: Jaren Jackson Jr, Filipowski
C: J Nurkic, K Love

3rd stringers

G: Konchar, Vince Williams II
F: Cody Williams
F: Boucher

And the injured Walker Kessler.

Boucher gives them some extra depth there at the big spots. Especially with Filipowski and JJJ able to play some C minutes. They can play Boucher at PF alongside them if they want to stay big. K Love not the most dependable health wise. Boucher will be a useful extra body on the end of the bench.

Maybe Boucher will even play ahead of K-Love. Be a rotation player (end of rotation). Filipowski at center and Boucher at PF. Utah are not blessed with good wings so staying big may be a better option for them.
