After Simons got traded, Pritchard immediately came off the bench. I'm also not sure whether Queta remains a starter or if he becomes the first big off the bench.

What do we think is our starting 5 in the immediate future? How about if/when Tatum returns?

Vucevic should start. Queta off the bench. Easier for older players to start than come off the bench. Warms up get the body moving good. Avoid them coming in cold. Queta only plays 25mpg. He can that starting or coming off the bench.

Garcia has been playing really well. Hopefully it's a big man trio

I'm unclear why PP comes off the bench now.  Are we starting Garza at the 4?

I'm not entirely sure whether the "Pritchard off the bench" move last night was a random one-off by Joe or a more regular thing.

Last night lineup with Vuc instead of Baylor.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

The scoring and ball handling needs balanced.  If PP starts there is no one to come in and keep the pressure on the defense and to run point.  His scoring is needed when JB is on the bench.  Especially with DWhite in his season long 3pt slump.  The C's now need another PG.  None of the wings are good enough to run point.  Pritch an Dwhite are our only true ball handlers.  If one goes down they are in trouble.  They need to move off of a few end of bench guys to bring in a PG.  Conley would be a great bench addition.  Not sure who else is available.  Bring back the little guy! LOL.  Too bad Smart wasn't available.  He'd be great off the bench with this team.

Unless the Celtics add another ball handler that can play 15 - 20 minutes a game at the level the reserve swingmen play, it makes the most sense to keep Pritchard off the bench where he can cook the other teams reserves.

Baylor starting (or Walsh ) makes sense until Tatum returns and ready to return.

Vuc off the bench to run pick and rolls with Pritchard makes sense.

So when Tatum returns, people are envisioning:

White
Brown
Hauser
Tatum
Vucevic/Queta

pre-Tatum return:
White, Brown, Baylor, Walsh, Queta.  Bench: PP, Vuc, Hugo, Garza, Minott.  need PP's scoring and shot creation off the bench

post-Tatum return:  swap out Baylor for Tatum and Baylor back to the bench.  Walsh can take the tougher wing to defend to let Tatum ease back into it.

They can start Pritchard and take him out early. Say the 6min mark. Then bring him back in around the 9-10min mark with D White getting his rest.

Pritchard doesn't need to move to the bench to keep a PG (D White or Pritch) on the floor at all times.

I think it will depend on match ups as it always should.  Some games you will want more big aka double bigs and other games a smaller more mobile center and more guards to run.   We should attack the weaknesses of the other team as opportunity presents itself.
