Conley will probably get bought out is my guess..

Simons replacement?

Mike

Very different players, and Conley is mostly cooked.  I'd welcome him as another veteran voice, but he wouldn't replace what Simons brings.

he's a decent ballhandler but his offense and defense are not close to what they were

So all Min had to give up here was a pick swap? That's pretty decent for them as it saves a bunch of money (24 million in tax) and gives them more flexibility to pursue a Giannis trade.

Jaden Ivey seems like a big piece to give up without getting anything of value in return.

Seriously, how many guards do Chicago need?

Tre Jones
Coby White
Ayo Dosunmu
Anfernee Simons
Jaden Ivey
Mike Conley

and they got a point-forward in Josh Giddey.

What is the plan here?

Chicago waived Jevon Carter a few days ago. He would be a good pickup for Boston as a 3rd string PG / backup PG. I think J Carter has more in the tank than Conley does.

Much like Memphis, I have no idea what Chicago is doing. They have a ton of guards and no center. Team is a mess.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Cut to the three Spider Man's pointing meme for Simons/White/Ivey as three expiring score first point guards.

I agree.  Not a horrible backup better than anyone we can bring up.   I think Brad will see what develops and the trade is not finalized.

They really are in need on a complete teardown.  Bottom out and rebuild around Giddey & Matas.   They've been the proverbial treadmill team for way too long and its really been detrimental.

Wonder if Carter's 4 years at West Virginia will influence Joe in his discussions with Brad?
