Just in: Chicago, Minnesota and Detroit have agreed to a multi-team deal that sends Jaden Ivey and Mike Conley Jr. to the Bulls and Kevin Huerter and Dario Saric to the Pistons, sources tell ESPN. Detroit also receives a 2026 first-round protected swap from Minnesota.

Wolves are now under the first apron...

Whatever comes next is what this deal is really about.

Huh.  Is that a clear upgrade for Detroit?  I'm not sure that I would have messed with chemistry.

That's gotta be a precursor because the Wolves think they are getting Giannis.

Exactly what I was thinking (i.e. bring me Naz Reid as a facilitating third team!).
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Exactly. Naz and Randle are the two core pieces, but we send Simons and a pick for Naz.

The Bucks get to stay relevant. In fact, they may be a fringe playoff team.

The other alternative is that they're just dumping salary to get under the luxury tax.  They're only $4 million over and their ownership is allegedly very cost conscious.

Could be a bit of both.  They moved a player who was not performing well, and now they can either swing for Giannis or make a small trade to get out of the tax if they miss on him, while not really affecting their competitiveness.  Decent trade at the cost of a 1st-round swap.

That's not a good look for a team trying to win a championship though.

Plus, they are even thinner at guard now. They must have a trade in the works.

They're 5th in the West, and basically where Cleveland is.  Dumping an old, minimally-contributing veteran on an $11 million contract at the very cheap cost ofd a pick swap isn't that strange.

Also, wouldn't a team trying to trade for Giannis want to keep expiring contracts and leave their first rounder unencumbered by pick swaps?
