a lot is happening on the draft front with multiple projected 1st round picks staying in college. Haugh, Ngongba, and Mullins. I believe the deadline is Friday.
As the talent pool shrinks I actually trust Stevens more to make or trade a pick that will return value. Some lesser GMs will be forced to undoubtedly reach.
if the talent thins out some more I would be surprised if both picks aren't traded for future picks. Brad doesn't seem to like holding onto the picks he has and prefers stockpiling second rounders
Even with a few guys going back there's still quite a few intriguing guys in the 25-40 range.
IMO the Celtics should be making at least one draft pick every year. You need cheap talent to contend and the only real way to do that is to draft and develop players. The Celtics have bought themselves some wiggle room, but as long as Tatum/Brown are here on max contracts they need to be replenishing the young guys every year.
Next year they will have Queta, Garza and Amari all on 1 year deals as their only center under contract. I'd like to see them go for a bigman, or failing that a scoring type guard to complement their more defense focused wing core.
