But another 3-4 seasons near or around his current level and another title would go a long way to get him in.

I think JB will be as long as he plays another 4-5 years at a high level. He already has the Championship and Finals MVP.

basketball-reference has his probability at 2.1% in large part because he has very few All NBA Teams.  Tatum is 59.6% which makes him all but a lock as the only person with a better percentage not in the HOF that is eligible is Marion. Tatum is that high because of the All NBA 1st Team's even without him winning any postseason hardware (I mean we all know he was better than Brown, and led the C's in points, assists, and rebounds in both the ECF and Finals, but for some reason Brown won the MVP's in each of those series).

Now Brown might be one of the exceptions because of the postseason awards (rightfully or not, he does have them).  The only 2 people in Brown's range in the HOF are Walton and Nelson and Walton was obviously a league MVP but hurt all the time, and Nelson got in as a coach, not a player.

Of active players, Brown is 36th on the list and currently between Beal and Siakam.

The HOF probability is not an exact science but it is pretty accurate.  So I'd say no unless he starts piling up the All NBA teams (and he is clearly on pace for at least the 2nd team this year).

As with just about anyone who has had a 10 year career, he needs a little more time. But he absolutely projects as a HOFer.  Only injury can stop him IMO.

Thanks for the info. Very surprising that his probability is so low and that he?s 36 of current players. Off the top of my head - did Jojo White make a lot of all-NBA teams? I?d be surprised if he did. An example of a perennial 20 or near-20 ppg scorer who is in the Hall but wasn?t ever the best at his position (2 rings).

They almost have to right?  Unless they really tighten up the belt with qualifications.  They have a longer run than the KG/Pierce Celtics.

Oh yeah they are locks. They could not play another game for the Celtics and I don?t see how they don?t retire their numbers. Brown has played 10 years and won a finals MVP and Tatum is in his 9th and has been their best player with numerous All NBA awards. That is a lot more than KG in his time here.

The bigger question will be around Smart Horford and potentially White depending on how things go with him. I would lean no to all three as of now but could be swayed and especially with White how the next few years go.

Agreed.  Unless one of them leaves town in a really, really ugly exit, their numbers are getting retired.
