Rumors Suggest Trea Young in on the block. I always really like his game.  We have White and I don?t see Trea as a great fit for this team. Just wondered where people think would be a good landing place for TY.

I was wondering if we could get involved somehow and maybe end up with Zaccharie Risacher, love that kids up side!

Heat, Timberwolves or Kings make sense.

Idk if it's realistic, but I wonder if Houston explores this. They would really benefit with a floor general to go along with KD, Amen Thompson and Sengun. And Young is better than FVV even if he were healthy. Maybe something along the lines of FVV, Finney-Smith, 1 young role player and picks to get it done? FVV is mainly for salary, but still could be a useful veteran for ATL.

Houston or Minnesota would be intriguing. Kings would truly be "LOL".

I was thinking about this too. Surprised that the Hawks are giving up on him this early.

The hardest thing about evaluating these players as a fan is we are on the outside looking in? we only see the on court performance, not his attitude, approach to training, mindset, etc?if anything the fact that a team is ?giving up on him? so early is a red flag to me. Because the next question would be why, given his theoretical upside. Was it a fit issue? Or an attitude issue?

Of course it?s also possible that the Hawks front office and coaching staff are terrible and don?t know how to evaluate players

Sure, probably cost JB and even then, I don't know if $ match up.

This was suggested on another hoops board:

Atlanta Hawks get: Jaylen Brown

Boston Celtics get: Jalen Johnson, Zaccharie Risacher, 2029 first-round pick (top-10 protected)

The Sacramento Kings have no interest in trading for Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young despite long-standing rumors connecting the two franchises, a team source told The Athletic.

Sacramento has maintained this stance for an extended period and remains unchanged in its position. Scott Perry replaced Monte McNair as lead decision maker for the Kings last offseason.

The Kings have previously been rumored as a possible destination for Young, with speculation that Atlanta could acquire former All-Star Zach LaVine in a potential deal. LaVine was believed to be of interest to the Hawks in trade scenarios.

Sacramento's lack of interest represents a significant blow to Young's trade market despite the Kings' need for offensive production. The decision suggests Young's value around the league has diminished considerably from his All-Star peak.

Argh. There goes my trade idea for Trae Young.

Marc Stein reported Monday that the Washington Wizards are considered a possible suitor for Young. Wizards guard CJ McCollum, earning $30.6 million on an expiring contract, is believed to be the most likely player headed to Atlanta in any potential deal.

I am surprised by Washington. I thought they were committed to a full blown rebuilding process. Multiple years getting top 5 picks and then seeing where they are. Trading for Trae will disrupt that.

I am not sure they have the young talent already in place to make it worthwhile going after Trae. Alex Sarr is showing some promise. Kyshawn George looks good. Not sure any of the other youth shows any star potential yet. And neither Sarr or Kyshawn are sure-things as stars. They are still in a relatively early stage of their development. You would like to have more talent in place before fast-tracking the rebuilding process by getting Trae.

Problem with Houston is they are hard-capped at 1st apron which they are only 1.2 million below. Any deal needs to see them sending out at least 44.7 million to Trae youngs 45.9 incoming.

C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark

ESPN reporting that Trae & Atlanta are working together to find a trade for him. Sounds like both sides have decided to move on. Now they are just trying to find the best deal.

Atlanta Hawks four-time All-Star Trae Young and his agents, Aaron Mintz, Drew Morrison and Austin Brown, are working with the franchise on a trade, sources told ESPN on Monday.

Young's reps and Hawks general manager Onsi Saleh have begun positive and collaborative talks over the past week on finding a resolution, sources said.

Young has been the face of the Hawks' franchise since he was drafted in 2018 and sits as the team's all-time leader in 3-pointers and assists. He has led Atlanta to the postseason three times in his eight years, including a run to the Eastern Conference finals in 2021.

As bad as Atlanta and Dallas both look regarding their Doncic trades, at least they aren't the Sacramento Kings.

There were a lot of bad decisions in that 2018 draft.

I wonder if Miami swoops in. They have been desperate for a star for a while now and are kinda stagnant. And this is assuming Young's trade price isn't too great, which it definitely isn't. You could probably get him for salary and 1-2 future draft picks.

I'm not sure if Miami is allowed to trade Rozier's money away in a trade? If so, they can use him and 1-2 young players not named Mitchell to get it done. You still keep Ware, Powell and Bam.

Miami is kind of stuck as is and Young can give them some buzz and an actual star PG. Mitchell has potential but he's not there yet.

Trae Young has the Washington Wizards as his top preferred trade destination, sources tell ESPN. Atlanta is working to move Young, who has a $49 million player option in offseason that would make him an expiring contract; or opt out, leave and give Hawks significant cap space.
