Boston Celtics

Incoming: Davis

Outgoing: White, Simons, Gonzalez, 2026 1st round pick, 2026 2nd round pick

Boston saves 4.4 million in the trade and would be under the tax apron.

- - -

Dallas Mavericks

Incoming: White, Gonzalez, Nurkic, Celtics 2026 1st round pick

Outgoing: Davis

Dallas save 3.9 million in the trade.

- - -

Utah Jazz

Outgoing: Nurkic

Incoming: Simons, Celtics 2026 2nd round pick

Utah would still be 2.2 million under the tax apron after the trade.

The rotation would be...

Davis / Queta
Minott
Tatum / Hauser
Brown / Walsh
Pritchard

That's probably a bit weak for an "all-in" squad with a short window.

I have to admit I don't think Dallas would do that.  doesn't seem like enough for Davis regardless of his injury history

I feel like you are right and yet I have a suspicion the Mavs might be lucky to get that return for AD when they pull the trigger
Go Celtics.

I think it's fair given Davis' lack of availability. However the C's may be better off waiting for a more reliable option that fits all of Tatum and Brown's window.

Davis is at roughly $55-$62M the next (3) seasons, unless he declines his player option in 2027-28.  I see Davis as more in the Porzingis category.  Better than Porzingis when healthy but similar durability issues.  A healthy Porzingis is worth maybe $50M but the actual Porzingis will have trouble getting half that on the market.  I would not want Davis on the roster taking up $60M'ish in cap space, when you know he will have availability issues.  No matter what the trade.  He is probably only good for 50 or so regular season games and no way he holds up for a long playoff run.

If he could be added at $30M, like Porzingis, sure, but that is not happening.

I don't think we will see many more teams with 3 max contracts unless its a 2 year window to win a chip.  That team is not good enough to win it all with how good OKC is and will be for the next few years.  Until OKC hits their 2nd apron trouble they will be tough to beat.  I think the Cs just need to continue to develop their young players, hopefully turn Simons into a good bench piece and if they have a top 14 pick this year pick the BPA that has starter potential.  Stay the course.

With Walsh, Hugo and Minott the one I can see being moved is Hauser.  All 3 are more well rounded players then Sam and Sam has a lot of value with his shooting and cheap contract.
