His value is at an all time low. Even if it's to rehab his image, and he would look great playing with Tatum, Brown, White, Prichard.  Could flip him.for much more if it works out. If not oh well. That's the game.

Queta
Tatum
Brown
White
Lamelo/Prichard

That's pretty solid on paper. And Prichard and white give us insurance with lamelos health.

no. if we're making a deal with our primary asset Simons, then we need to be getting a big, not another guard that doesn't make an effort on defense and isn't the shooter that Simons is.

Simons not even as asset man. Most teams want the Celtics to attach a first to take him on. Let that sink in.

Simons is not much of an asset, but no one is asking for a first just to take him.  You are just making things up.  He is not being traded because his salary is simply too large for most teams to work out a deal, and they want to see what is out there closer to the deadline.

agreed.  pure personal speculation on what it would take to move him.  he's a positive asset that other teams will want to fill out their bench.  as the deadline approaches, Brad will find a deal for him.  it might not be for as much as we want, but a deal will be made which will likely drop us below the first apron and/or bring in another serviceable big.

No. Relying heavily on a player who is constantly injured is a special kind of hell that I want no part of.

You do that trade without a 2nd thought.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

It's rare you and I agree. If Walsh is the sticking point, he can go, but I'd rather send Baylor and keep the combo of Walsh, Hugo, and Minott as rangy defensive wings around Melo, White, Brown, Queta, and Tatum.

Still would need another big, but that team would be tough.

yes significantly upgrading talent at the expense of mostly worthless assets just sounds like a terrible idea.

It?s a talent upgrade if you ignore availability, which I think has been the main point of those who oppose this trade idea.   Not a good idea to not take games played over the last four years into account.
