another horrible ATO play

They executed it poorly, which makes it look worse.

JB missed on the block out because he helped on Maxey. Tough break. Let?s get this to OT! Or a win!

He was right next to Oubre on that put back. Just lost track of him.

Yup, lost track of where Oubre was. Credit to JWalsh though. He?s turning into a nice defensive stud.

I will say, the only game where we locked noncompetitive and overwhelmed all game was the Rockets. They've been competitive in every game and hung in there against everyone else even despite not having Tatum, and much talent. But yeah the last minute executions are just rough, which was probably expected.

Yeah, honestly I thought we had DW in a pretty advantageous position there.  He lost the ball and panicked.  It is what it is.

We?re probably gonna be close to a .500 team when all is said and done. If JT comes back, may e Brad swings a deal or two by the deadline to see if we can make some noise in the playoffs? Tanking is probably out of the question, unless there?s a major injury on either JB or DW.

Yeah looking at the standings and some of these bottom feeders, play-in might be by default anyways.

I'd be down for trading for a big man at the deadline like Gafford or Vucevic then potentially getting Tatum back. We'll see though, it still depends how the rest of the conference unfolds and where we are by February

This is what I thought at the start of the year...there will be some really fun victories, because they will have achieved it largely through effort and hustle from lower skilled guys with lots of heart (e.g. guys like Walsh, Hugo, Minott, Neemi, Garza) but there will be frustrating losses in there was well because our execution just won't consistently be at a level where we can regularly close out away close victories. But overall we will be fun to watch because (for me anyway) it's fun watching guys hustling for boards, loose balls, catching fire when you don't expect them to, getting deflections, etc.

In hindsight, that half court shot by Grimes to end the third quarter  was huge.

He had a really good game overall. Played 28 mins and had 18pts/6rebs/4ast/1blk.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

What an anger-inducing closing stretch. White makes one three but misses a closer one from the corner that was wide open, then missed from in close; Brown bricks a FT, then lets Oubre get the game-winning putback; someone had a shot roll off the rim; and they bungled the last play altogether. The optimists will say, ?Oh, they?re so close to being a good team,? but I say, ?No, this is who they are.? Too much bungling. But being in a weak conference, they?ll probably stumble into too many wins to net a high draft pick, instead sneaking into the playoffs and losing in the first round. Hurray for moral victories.

Garbage play down the stretch.. Leaving guys who havent missed a shot wide open, bricking freethrows and layups, dumb shots. This game had all the ugly.

Cant stand d white and pritchard this year, both of them refuse to step up in the absence of JT
everyone got so sensitive after 9-11... thanks alot bin laden

And unfortunately, we don't pay Jaylen $50mm+ per year to lose track of a scrub on a critical defensive play down the stretch with the game on the line. You actually pay someone those dollars for them not to to do that. You have to give a crap to box out - Jaylen mails in the effort far more thanhe should for a player paid the max.

Aggravating ending, but they had some of my favorite stretches of play of the season within the game last night.  I do think they?re figuring out how to compete, which is good, but competing and winning are different things.

They?re still a return to the norm of shooting from their returning guys in Hauser, White and Pritchard away from being a team that can have a winning record in this league. Then again maybe this is now the norm.  A couple of those guys needs to step up and start being reliable scorers again.  Very weird to see Pritchard hesitating on his shots - never ever thought I?d see him show a lack of confidence.
Yup

On a clean catch he might have spotted Queta for an intentional alley oop too (not the airball oop he got).
