There?s a lot of talk that Adebayo will be available this season. I?d love to see Bam in green.

Would Riley even trade him to us?

But I'd be down

I have a hard time seeing the Heat trading Adebayo to the Celtics unless the Celtics package was just far and away better than what others were offering, but if that's the case you probably don't want to do the deal.

Also: he makes about 50 million in 26-27, so he's probably out of the Celtics price range cap wise. Unless White or Brown are off the team its hard to see their starting center in 26-27 making more than around 30 million.

I am starting to think Vucevic is the play. Chicago got off to a hot start and was the 1 seed but they've lost 3 straight and are now the 6 seed. Regardless, Vucevic doesn't fit their long term plans and he's a rental this year who can probably be extended at a reasonable rate beyond this year (not a max-level deal). I could see Chicago flipping him at the deadline for some expiring salary + pick(s), which the C's can do.

He has his flaws for sure, but he's still a consistent 17/10+ kind of player and a nice scorer. And despite the age, I think he could absolutely be a nice player to have to help contend for the next 2-3 years AFTER this season. They don't need a superstar center, an above average to great one is perfectly fine. I also think he'd be more motivated on a playoff team with Jaylen + Tatum than toiling away with Chicago. Some people wondered about Porzingis' drive but he looked like a different guy with the C's when he was out there. And Vucevic is also usually available and not as injury prone.

And also don't kid yourselves. I like Queta a lot but he feels more like an awesome backup and fringe starter kind of guy. They still need a starting caliber center for beyond this season and Vucevic is that guy. I'm also not sure they have other options unless someone thinks Amari Williams or Tillman can make some miraculous leap. Vucevic consistently grabs boards too.

Vucevic is already 35 years old.

With Tatum, Brown & White contracts, it is gotta be hard to add another great player
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Vucevic is on an expiring contract worth $21mil. That would fit inside the Porzingis TPE worth $22.5mil.

In terms of real legitimate possibilities, I feel like Ivica Zubac is probably near the top of the list. Very good rim protector and rebounder, has average 74 games played per season the last 6 years so he's pretty healthy, 5 months younger than Jaylen Brown so fits the timeline, two years on contract after this one at 19 and 20 million so he fits their salary structure. Would also fit into the Porzingis TPE.

I know he's not gigantic name, but he checks every box you'd want in your center (except shooting threes).

If the Clippers are bad this year maybe they finally blow it up.

Any Davis trade would need to include both White and Simons. But the good news is that it is possible to stay out of the 2nd apron for at least a year at that.
