I am personally more concerned about Charlotte.  I really want to avoid them in the first round.  I would rather be the 3 seed if they wind up the 7th seed.  They are going to give whomever they play a lot of trouble.

If I had to rank the teams in the East I fear in a playoff series this year:

1. New York
2. Detroit (healthy Cade)
3. Charlotte
4. Cleveland

But yeah I really want to avoid Charlotte in the 1st round

I feel like a broken record saying it, but that's what was frustrating last year in the playoffs. The C's were dying by the 3 and in turn, they basically let Brunson and KAT both off the hook defensively. Both guys are very poor defenders and KAT was even in foul trouble a few of those games but then the C's stopped attacking him in the 2nd half to potentially draw his 5th/6th foul(s).

It's weird because in the 2024 Finals, they actually attacked Kyrie/Luka often and exposed them defensively and won comfortably in 5 games. Kyrie/Luka are poor defenders too and Luka was admittedly a bit heavier in 2024 too (not in a good way)

They didn?t just lose, Knicks were manhandled. Hornets were up 20+ at one point.

I feel like a broken record reminding everyone how hurt the Celtics were last playoffs.  Jaylen was playing on a meniscus he knew was torn.  Jrue missed several playoff games and essentially failed a physical when he was traded over the summer.  Porzingis could barely walk.  And then Tatum went down.  That team was just run down and it showed.

Yeah I agree with this too. Porzingis in particular basically not being able to play was just a massive loss. That combined with Horford losing a step (or being hurt too behind the scenes) was killer.

I still think the first two games in particular the C's blew them on their own even factoring in the injuries. Two 20-point leads at home in the 2nd half and they just lose them. Brutal.

But it's a new season and an updated roster. Hopefully they learned some lessons from last year's experiences too (and the experience this year of managing without JT)

I see two things as true at the same time.  BOS did inexcusably blow 2 home games with big leads.  That is on the players and the coach.  It is also true that it turned out the team was dealing with more injuries than was apparent at the time.
