Wait till JB sees this..

Nate Duncan‬: Bam Adebayo attempted 43 free throws Tuesday. The last time the Boston Celtics TEAM shot so many free throws in a game was 10 years ago.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

The best thing to come out of that is Bam passing Kobe's 81 (which we've heard about incessantly over the years) and also breaking Lebron's Heat franchise record.

Kobe is an all time great player. What bam just did with 43 FT attempts to break his record is shameful. The guy doesn?t even average 19pts a game. Bad look for the league.

None of what Wilt, Bam, or Kobe did was exactly honorable for the game of basketball.  It's selfish basketball to begin with.  Kobe took over 75% of his team's shots in the 4th quarter of his 81 point game and ALL of the Lakers' 4th Q FTs.

Kobe only had 26 points at halftime and the Raptors were winning 63-49.  Kobe had 27 of the Lakers 42 in the 3rd, Toronto only scored 22 and was down 5 entering the 4th. Kobe scored 28 of the Lakers 31 and the Raptors had 19 in the 4th.  The Raptors just gave up and Kobe went into full bore shooting every time down to get to 81.  The 2nd half of that game was all about Kobe passing Wilt's 78.  It was terrible basketball overall.

That is all true, but what the Heat did with Bam last night was bush league on a different level. It was disgusting.

In 42 mins, Kobe scored 81pts by going 28-46 from the field, 7-13 from 3pt and 18-20 from the line. Bam shooting 43 free throws to get to 83pts is absolutely ridiculous.

The part that annoyed me most (and this also happened when Devin Booker put up 70 against us a few years ago) was that the Heat kept fouling the Wizards in a 20+ point game to get Bam more possessions.  That is not basketball.

Yes. Years ago, fouling on purpose just to try to extend the game and give your team a chance to win was questioned.

Now teams do it for individual accolades.

and Kobe scored 67% of the Lakers points while Bam only scored 55%. Kobe took 52% of the Lakers FGA, Bam took 48%. In the 2nd half of Kobe's game he took 28 of the 38 FGA and scored 55 of the 73 points whereas Bam took 19 of 40 FGA and scored 40 of 73 points.  Bam also had all 3 of his assists in the 2nd half. Bam obviously had a ton of FT, but he was much less a ball hog than Kobe was.  And I don't mean that as a slight to Kobe as he shot awesome and his teammates did not, but the 2nd half of that game was a worse display of team ball and basketball in general than last night, even with the Heat fouling for more possessions with under 2 minutes to go.  I can honestly live with a couple minutes of chicanery when a record like that is on the line.  And almost all of the fouls on Bam were legit fouls with him at the basket.  The Wizards defense was atrocious and rather than give Bam gimme they fouled him.  He'd have scored more and had a much better FG% if they didn't foul him.
