Taj Gibson somehow manages to get another job and hang on in the league for one more year.

Taj Gibson and the Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to a contract. Gibson becomes the 35th player in NBA history to play after the age of 40.

Gibson, who is represented by Mark Bartelstein, appeared in 37 games last season with the Charlotte Hornets. Gibson averaged 2.9 points and 3.2 rebounds in 11.1 minutes.

Apparently the Detroit Pistons' horn went off and didn't stop blaring for about one full basketball quarter lol (12.5 minutes). That's gotta be frustrating for the fans and everyone in the building.

And the technician trying to fix it...why couldn't they just unplug the dang thing and plug it back in again lol. Stared at it for a long time trying to troubleshoot it

Yeah. I think any of NY/CLE/BOS/DET could win the East, but I'm not that sold on Detroit even though they have the best record in the NBA. NY/BOS/CLE have more playoff experience but also, there's a lot of reliance on Cade. Does DET really have a consistent second option if he's iffy? Maybe it's Duren, he has been hot lately. Need to see more though in games Cade struggles in to know for sure.

What the table below is telling us is that DET is a top team (+10.9 per 100 Poss) when Cade is on the floor but a 0.500 team with him NOT on the floor.  Good for him in the MVP race (he probably deserves is assuming Jokic and SGA don't get enough games), but there is a lot on his shoulders.

Per 100 Poss, BOS has a little better Team +/- (this is a little different than NRtg, but very similar, as the possessions are not the same for offense and defense in the true NRtg calc.  Their NRtg are both +8.1 exactly).  But the delta between Cade ON/OFF and Brown ON/OFF is much bigger for Cade.  He is carrying that team more than Brown is carrying the Celtics.

I don't trust these stats enough to conclude that BOS is better without Brown.  A lot depends on how the coach handles the rotations, who these guys end up out there with once the bench starts to get in.  But as a general trend, this is representative of reality.

Those +/- numbers are incredible for Cade.

I'm a day late on this, but I would love to see an OKC-DEN rematch in the playoffs. OKC having to play both San Antonio and Denver in the playoffs would be interesting, and it's likely if DEN stays around the 4-5 seed and SAS the 2-3 seed.
