Breaking: The Cleveland Cavaliers are trading De'Andre Hunter to the Sacramento Kings for Dennis Schroder and Keon Ellis, sources tell Shams Charania.

The three-team deal includes the Chicago Bulls acquiring Kings forward Dario Saric and two future second-round picks.

He looked like he gave so little of a crap last night.  A team of vets that is going nowhere is a recipe for disaster.

It looks to me like the Cavs will make one more trade here. Maybe Garland with the addition of multiple guards?

The Kings are vying for the worst-run franchise in the NBA.

This is like his 12th team or something. Still remember it was yesterday when he was still a Celtics.

Given the current market for small guards who spend a lot of time out with injury and struggle to defend, I'm not sure what value Garland would have.  I'm not rushing to pay a player with Garland's profile $40M+ over the next two and a half seasons.

I wouldn't take him over Trae Young, and we just saw what Trae was worth.

Hunter became expendable with the emergence of Jaylon Tyson. Good move for both sides.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Going from the $23.3 million Hunter makes this season to the combined $16.4 million from Schroder ($14.1 million) and Ellis ($2.3 million) cuts about $7 million in salary.

Per Sam Vecenie, this will save the Cavs somewhere in the neighborhood of $45 million to $50 million in luxury tax penalties.

It doesn't take the Cavs out of the second apron completely, but it gives them big-time financial savings.

Cavs Roster

G: Darius Garland, Dennis Schroder
G: Donovan Mitchell, Sam Merrill
F: Jaylon Tyson, Keon Ellis
F: Evan Mobley, Lonzo Ball
C: Jarrett Allen, Dean Wade

Small (pint sized) bench. 4 guards and one combo big in D Wade.  One small guard. Two smallish SGs. One good size combo guard.

Kings should have more balance now

G: Westbrook, Devin Carter
G: Z LaVine, Malik Monk, Nique Clifford
F: DeMar DeRozan
F: Keegan Murray, DeAndre Hunter
C: D Sabonis, M Raynaud / Achiuwa

They have 3 legit forwards for the 1st time in a while. All more SFs than PFs though. Still undersized overall. And none of them are quality defenders.

They still havean over-abundance of SGs. LaVine is a 35mpg player. Monk is a 30mpg player. Nique Clifford a nice young player who you would like to get 20-25mpg. Both LaVine and N Clifford are one position players. Monk can play a little PG but he is much better at SG. They should trade Monk or LaVine. Get another forward in there. Preferably one with a bit more size & defense.
