Trae Young for McCollum and Kispert. No picks. Crazy low value for him. Essentially salary dump.

Shams Charania: But the biggest thing is also this has a major impact on the upcoming trade market specifically with Anthony Davis. He is a prime trade target of the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks believe that making this Trae Young deal allows them to pursue a player with a large significant salary like an Anthony Davis over the next several months.

I sort of like this trade for the Wizards, but not for the Hawks. I don't see how this trade makes them any better in the short or long term.

Even if they make a trade for AD, who's running that offense? They've been bad in the half court without Trae, and no one that they got is gonna change that (nor would AD)
I'm bitter.

How do they get Anthony Davis? Any rumours on what a trade by ATL for AD might look like?

Porzingis + Kennard + pick(s). KP is an expiring. It works if ATL adds another small salary piece somewhere (maybe end of bench guy) as salary filler.

Mavs will need Risacher instead of Kennard. No way they can trade Davis for just picks and salary clearance, since they would still be above the cap next summer.

If he is traded and then bought out, and the Celtics dump a couple of minimum salaries to get under the first apron (as they will likely try to do), he could be eligible to sign in Boston.

I wonder if Irving will be included in any trade for Davis.

NAW, Zinger, Risacher, and McCullom works for Irving and Davis.

They'd need to process it in two separate trades - McCullom and picks for Irving, and then NAW Zinger, and Risacher for Davis.

I doubt Atlanta has much interest in Irving.  Kyrie would just recreate some of the problems they were having with Trae.  NAW is a better fit for them and is the player they should keep.

Reports are that Dallas wants to keep Kyrie long term. They are reluctant to part with him. They like what he brings to the team. Not just the talent but more his persona / leadership.

It was one of the reasons Dallas was not interested in Trae Young. Because they weren't ready / willing to move on from Kyrie.

I don't understand why they want to trade AD but keep Kyrie. I would either keep both or trade both. But that isn't the way Dallas are looking at it. They want Kyrie there long term.

Apparently, there's this:

Giannis Antetokounmpo is "committed" to the Bucks and plans to be in Milwaukee until he retires.

I have stopped gambling, but I would definitely make a bet on the over of Number of NBA teams Giannis plays for in his career - 1.5 if it were offered somewhere.

The Sacramento Kings are reportedly seeking a first-round pick for Keon Ellis, per James L. Edwards III (The Athletic).

I am curious if the Celtics would make a genuine offer for Ellis. He seems like such a Mazzulla type player.
