Jaylen alluded to that on X as well. Speaking of Brunson, the Hawks are currently beating the Knicks by 17 pts midway through the third qtr. Another chance for us to inch closer to them in the standings.

JB seems to play his best when he feels snubbed, so I am looking forward to an even better month from him to get us through a January swoon.

Knicks lose.  Cs can be one game behind NYK with a win tomorrow. Crazy.

Quite a few MPJ trade rumours.

Golden State are linked to him. Maybe Kuminga, Moody & Buddy Hield for MPJ. MPJ can play PF in a small ball lineup with Jimmy at SF and Draymond at C. Steph and Podz in the backcourt. MPJ with his shooting ability would cause nightmares in that lineup.

Phoenix continues to impress, they just beat the Thunder via a game winning three by Booker. I love what the Celtics are doing but Phoenix i think is the bigger surprise of the season.

Indiana's 2026 1st round draft pick is interesting.

So they traded their 2026 1st round pick to Toronto in the Siakam deal. It is top 4 protected. Indiana currently have the 4th worst record. But it doesn't end there. Toronto then traded Indy's pick to New Orleans in the Brandon Ingram deal.

So New Orleans could be getting a pick in the 5-10 range if Indiana fall out of the top 4 on draft lottery night. Or Indiana could keep the pick if they finish with a top 4 pick.

That would be a huge gain for NOP. Completely unexpected. That Indiana pick was expected to be somewhere in the 20s when Toronto traded it at the trade deadline last year for Ingram.

It is also interesting to retroactively look at the value given up in both the Siakam & Ingram deals. Both at the time versus the end result. That draft pick if it is in the 5-7 range makes each acquisition more expensive. Siakam has already paid his way with the trip to the Finals last year but that Ingram deal may give people 2nd thoughts.

He is a guy that can play with Curry.  Play the Barnes/Durant role on the team.  That is the type of move GS should make and will help the illegal fitting nature of Curry/Butler.

Interesting article on Bickerstaff and what he learned in Cleveland and how he is applying it to the Pistons.

To be clear Indiana has their pick this year, it was traded back to them from NOP during the Finals last year.

Ohh. My bad.

So Indiana traded their #23 pick in 2025 draft in order to get their 2026 1st rounder back. New Orleans trade that #23 pick & their own 2026 1st to Atlanta for D Queen.

Okay. Wow. That pick has gotten traded a lot.

This works out that NOP indirectly traded IND #1 2026 (currently best odds in lottery) and their own #1 2026 pick directly (currently #2 best lottery odds) for #13 in 2025 (Queen).  Now, Queen has been good, as I understand it (I have not seen him play firsthand), but that is potentially trading the #1 and the #2 picks in a good draft for him.  Hard to believe that history will smile on NOP for this trade.

Meanwhile, ATL sits at #2 and #16 (they traded their own but have CLE first) in the 2026 draft.  The NOP have no picks currently in 2026.

league needs to have an opposite of Exec of the Year award because there's 3 teams competing for it - NO, Sac and Dallas.  At least Dallas has Cooper to have hopes about.

I cannot remember who (in jest) suggested this, but they had an idea to punish the worst NBA franchise. The last placed team would be forced to rebrand as their G-League affiliate for a season.

Basically the team would get symbolically relegated from the NBA. For example, if the Washington Wizards end this season with the worst record, for the 2026-27 season they would become the The Capital City Go-Go & The Wizards would play in the G-League.

I thought that idea was both genius & hilarious.
