Have you guys seen pictures of Zion Williamson lately? The guy looks like he lost a tremendous amount of weight. People are making the Captain Phillips pirate memes with how skinny he looks. To me it could show two things:

1) He is not as lazy as people say and worked tremendously hard to get his body to where it is now. This could lead for him to last longer, maybe be more agile and take him to a new level.
2) He lost too much weight. Some of his effectiveness was how strong he is. That could make him be pushed around and he won't be able to bully people as much as he used to. He can still be injury prone.

I don?t think he gets pushed around at his new weight.

Zion Williamson's new weight is reported to be 264 pounds, his lightest since before joining the Duke Blue Devils, following an intense summer conditioning program and a focus on diet. This significant weight loss from his previous high of around 330 pounds
Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

What was his weight coming into the league? Despite the weight issues, he has always been an explosive player. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out but to me, at least it shows commitment which is more to say than some players that have clearly visible flaws but they don't work on it (cough cough Ben Simmons).
Baby Jesus!

I don't think he was weighed at the draft combine, but the reports I found had him at 284 lbs on draft day.  His height is listed at 6'-6".  6'-6" and 264 lbs is plenty of mass to play PF in the NBA, at least when you have his athleticism.  I am not worried that he will get pushed around.  I don't see that as where the concern is.

Closer to Charles Barkley's weight

Zion = 6-7 264lbs
Barkley = 6-6 252lbs

If he looks better and in shape, they have zero incentive, to trade him to us.

That is what I was thinking when I saw him being interviewed.

Very curious to see what he (and Luka) play like in their new bodies.

Yes! Me too! I saw Zion in an interview and said, this could really be his year. I hope so for his sake.

If I was NOP, I probably would not trade him, at least not right now.  He has clearly walked the talk by showing up in actually good physical condition.  Even if he has totally worn out his welcome with the team, which is possible, no reason not to play him and let him show the league what he can do.  Then either trade him for more than you can get right now our keep him.  The risk of course is that he goes off the wagon, so to speak, or he continues to be plagued by injuries.  In the case of the latter, at least than you are trading an in shape player with durability issues, not an overweight player with durability issues.

I think Luka will not be able to back down guys like he used to do.
