Anyone on the forum collect NBA cards? I always liked sports memorabilia since I was a kid. Funny thing is I had a job that I wasn't able to get any autographs!! I could buy stuff online, but stayed away from it for the most part.
Now, I am mostly retired and I started collecting again. I find it fun and relaxing. I have some nice Celtics stuff, mostly Panini Rookie cards of various styles. Topps Chrome Rookies like Paul Pierce Chrome refractor. anyway, just checking to see if there are any other collectors in the group.  I think because I couldn't do it for so long, now it is like I am free!

I started a few years ago. Nothing crazy, but I have some decent Tatum Rookie cards. For newer cards, I like Panini. The Topps NBA the last few years don?t look good, IMO. Which players are you collecting?

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I really like to collect the rookie cards. Panini is what it hot now, I think Topps will be strong with Cooper Flagg, they got the licensing.  I have Tatum rookie, a few Pierce rookies, a few Jaylen Brown rookies and a bunch of Panini rookie cards in a bunch the varieties. Victor Wembanyama, a bunch of Cooper Flagg stuff. I try to stick with PSA 10 and try to get the best deals. I do have a bunch of raw cards too, that I plan to send to PSA to get graded. I actually use CHATgpt to help me grade cards. Works pretty well if you are shopping online.

I don?t really collect cards anymore.  But what I am doing is collecting autographs on my favorite set of cards from the 90s.  1996 upper deck SPX

I got signatures on all but two cards on the baseball set. Kirby Puckett and Barry bonds are all I have left.

I just recently started doing it for the basketball and football sets

[dang], I didn?t realize Topps obtained the licensing. Hopefully they put a bit more effort into their card designs. Some of these from the last few years are horrendous. For example:

A few years ago I bought and old collection with Thousands of cards for $5,000 then I turned around and sold them for $9,000...I did keep a couple of the Bird Fleers though...the 80-81 second year cards because I thought they looked cool...Still have them.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

I collected when i was young (90-95) and then got back in during covid.  Mostly vintage stuff.  Nabbed a 86 Fleer Jordan RC with a BSG grade of 7.  I got every rookie card from the 8 man playoff rotation for the 86 Celtics.  I did win a pretty cool jersey card of Lou Gehrig.  I got a 1957 Bob Pettit rc.  I wanted to either get Russell's 61 Fleer Card, but it was always just out of my price range.
