Saw the thing on CB main page about Bleacher Report picking it?s Celtics 21st century Mount Rushmore with Pierce, Garnett, Tatum and Brown. I think the first three are pretty inarguable but that last spot - probably is Brown, the only comment on CB was about IT, personally as much as I like IT, I would have him 8th. I want to put Rondo in there even though Brown is probably the right choice since he got the Finals MVP. Ray sixth (could?ve been 08 Finals MVP). Al 7th. No room for Ricky Davis unfortunately.

Is the list just too obvious or would anybody replace Jaylen for the last spot?
Go Celtics.

I think it's JB.  Nine seasons, 4x All-Star, Finals MVP

I don't really see that there's a debate on it.  Those have been the C's top 4 players this century.

As for Ray possibly being the MVP in the finals in 2008 -->  not even close.  If it wasn't PP, it would have been KG.

IT!  Really!  He was purely one dimensional, in the category of Simons, no D!  He was substituted in crunch time for a better defender.  That is not a Mount Rushmore player.

"During his prime, Isaiah Thomas was known for his elite offensive production, especially in the fourth quarter, but his small size made him a defensive liability that often caused him to be subbed out at the end of close games. The strategic tradeoff was often criticized by Thomas, but necessary for the team's overall defensive performance."

I'm not even sure who else would have compelling arguments to crack top 4.  Rondo is probably the closest for argument sake, IMO.

Rondo - Key component of two Finals teams.  Exciting player.  Serviceable.  In the conversation at least.
Antoine - He was definitely on the track to but we all know how that turned out.
IT - Helluva peak but too short
Ray - Key component of two Finals teams and 1 title. However, he was third banana
Kyrie - Uh...no
Smart - Heart & soul of some entertaining and competitive Celtics teams but he's not Mt. Rushmore

Yeh.  If you're picking 4 it has to be those 4.  Maybe you can take a knock against KG for lack of longevity, but we all know what his impact was.
Yup

I'd give an honorable mention for Avery Bradley just being here through some rough rough years and always playing hard and improving.  He hung around long enough to be here for the start of a return to respectability.
Yup

I think you'd have to open it up to a non-player, in which case there's a solid case for Danny Ainge.

IT was great but his contributions do not match Browns. Especially in terms of playoff wins.    We made it to Conference finals in 2017 with him.  Lost in the 1st round to the Hawks in 2016.  Brown has won a finals, lost a finals and been in the conference finals more.  IT was too easy to big body in the playoffs.

Some objective factors.  Pierce and Tatum are not arguable. Garnett also likely not arguable, but he wasn't here that long and after the knee injury stopped being a top level player.  For 4th, I think right now you could make reasonable arguments for Brown, Smart, or Rondo.  They all have 9 years on the team though Brown has played more games and he is obviously still here so he seems like the best choice now and it won't be a choice at all in another season or two.

Brown also has a Finals MVP and was much more of a key contributor to the title than Rondo was on the '08 title team.

I don't think Smart belongs in the conversation besides sentimentality.  I don't think you can put him above Brown or Rondo.
