This is from a twitter post. I do not know how to crop out the top part. It is an interesting list below though.

It took me a minute to make sense of it. I don't recognize a lot of the new team logos but then I realized they were in alphabetical order left to right.

WAS = 1979 = Elvin Hayes
ATL = 1986 = Dominique Wilkins

Interesting that Dominique made it in 1986 but never again. Bird was the mainstay there at SF. Then Barkley and Malone took over. Mullin made it in 1992. Then Pippen in the mid 1990s.

NYK = 1990 = Patrick Ewing
DET = 1997 = Grant Hill
UTA = 1999 = Karl Malone

No 1st Team All-NBA since Grant Hill. I was watching a Pistons game from 2005 or 2006 recently. They had 2 players (Chauncey and B Wallace) make All-NBA teams (not 1st team) that year. The announcer said it was the first time in their history they had 2 All-NBA players. Shocking.

Hakeem and David Robinson took over the 1st team center slot for the rest of Ewing's prime. Then Shaq. Houston or Spree were never making 1st team. Melo did not make it either. He peaked as a 2nd team member with the Knicks.

Toronto Raptors = N/A = never had one

Kawhi didn't make it in his title winning season. 2nd team All-NBA with Durant. LeBron 3rd team. Giannis and P George were the 1st team forwards.

I am shocked how little love Vince Carter got on these All-NBA teams during his peak in Toronto. 2nd team forward in 2001. 3rd team forward in 2000. No selection in 2002. Never made it back onto an All-NBA.

SAC = 2001 = Chris Webber
MIN = 2004 = Kevin Garnett

Ant should break this draught for Minnesota in the near future.

No sign of this changing for Sacramento. I expect Webber is the only player to make All-NBA 1st team for the Kings since they moved to Sacramento in the mid 80s. Tiny Archibald would have gotten there for the Kansas City Kings in the mid 70s. Sacramento never had a superstar other than Webber. Mitch Richmond and DeMarcus Cousins are the two other franchise stars they had in 40 years. Peja was 2nd team All-NBA. Divac never made it. Artest did not make it while there. D Sabonis has two 3rd team selections.

CHI = 2014 = Joakim Noah
MIA = 2014 = LeBron James
MEM = 2015 = Marc Gasol

Jimmy Butler had one 2nd team selection and one 1st team selection during his run in Miami where he led them to 2 NBA Finals and 1 ECF.

I wonder if Marc Gasol is the only Grizzlies player to ever make any All-NBA team. Pau Gasol never did. Shareef Abdur-Rahim never did. Z-Bo had one 3rd team selection. Oh, Morant. Actually Morant only has one All-NBA selection. He made the 2nd team. Only 2 All-Stars for Morant in 6 years.

NOP = 2018 = Anthony Davis
POR = 2018 = Damian Lillard

-----------

It is interesting to see how starved some teams are of elite talent / superstars over the years.

Gotta feel for Washington. 1979. 46 years ago.

Good find!  Atlanta is weird team.  For having such a long history, they don't have many memorable players.  Outside of Wilkens, you have to go back to the early 60s for their last first team player (Pettit).

The Wizards are just a bad franchise.  79 was the last time they made even the conference finals (they lost in the finals after winning in 78).  Only 5 times did they even make the conference semis.

Some of that is injury luck.  I mean Arenas went 3rd, 3rd, 2nd in his age 23, 24, and 25 years only to play 13, 2, and 32 before getting traded midway through the next season.  Wall made the 3rd Team and then got injured the next year (he was an all star but missed the 2nd half and was never the same).

Overall their top 10 WS players all time are in order

Unseld, Hayes, Bellamy, Beal, Ballard, Wall, Arenas, Jamison, Marin, and Chenier

I feel like I know basketball pretty well and I don't even know who 3 of those guys are.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner
