Next week home against Carolina? It's a must-win game then. Lose and this team should just start tanking

I would say that so far, they look better than last season, which isn't saying much.  It is good for example that the OL has been the same for every game.  It has been getting better.  They moved the ball against PIT, which I think is at least a half decent defense.

Just can't turn the ball over 5 times.  There continue to be other correctable mistakes, both by the team overall and by Maye.

I had a thought, is Vrabel right now a better coach than Belichick?  Would we be better, worse, or the same if we had Belichick?

to get in a spot where a team that needs a QB will trade up for

Think it's little too early to be worrying about that.   Outside the Bills game on 10/5, the schedule isn't exactly littered with powerhouses thru early November.

The Pats were barely able to get by Miami. None of these games are going to be easy for NE. They just aren?t very good on either end of the field right now. Team is just as undisciplined as last year with all the penalties and turnovers.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Nothing is going to be easy but there are clearly some very winnable games coming up there.

Pretty low odds of fumbling four times and LOSING ALL OF THEM. But they did it!

This team has TONS of work to do.

I can't really say they look better same time as last year. Last year they had an upset against a good playoff bound team in the Bengals and lost by a FG against Seattle, although they did lose against the Jets. This year they didn't do very well on their first game, beat a struggling Miami team and lost badly with 5 turnovers against the Steelers.

As the season progressed, last year's team's wheels came completely off and they finished the season worse than they started. I think the question is will this team improve as the season progresses or will they get worse. I think that is what defines whether or not this team is better than last years. Right now I say we are worse.

No.  This is probably a 7-8 win team and you're gonna need around 10 wins to get a wild card.

Gonna be a rough fall season for Boston sports. Pats looking like they'll be mediocre at best; Sox probably make the playoffs but low odds of going far; the Bruins will probably be bad this year; and the Celtics, without Tatum for at least the first half of the season, and having lost multiple key players for financial reasons, are gonna be hard to watch.

Also, last year ownership didn?t spend much at all in the offseason. This year they did. The talent has improved significantly. They should be playing better than they are.

so if your best case is basically below .500 and out of the playoffs isn't playing the young guys and building to next year the better option, especially if that means a better draft position
