Simoms, Hauser, Prichard gets you to 45 million. Serious draft capital needed as well. If young agrees to pick up his player option to Play with Tatum, Brown,  and White the following season.

Would you consider this trade? I've always felt like Tatum and Brown need an elite passer and although Traes defence is bad,  have to admit he's one of the best passers in the World.

He could really take the offense to another level, and obviously fits right end shooting the three point ball with lots of volume.

Queta
Tatum
Brown
White
Young

We are one big man away from title town.

I think we would have to gut all future picks and financially flexibility to even have a shot.

Also I'm not a Trae guy. For as great of a passer and shooter he is, its possible he is an even worse defender. There is an argument to be made that a rolling chair could realistically have a larger impact on whether his man makes a shot or not.

Take a look at his passing highlights here.

Also. Someone created an AI version of tray Young in a celtics uniform in trey young liked it online. So it's official he's coming lol.

Also, we still have derrick white so you can bench him when you want and put a defensive team out there.

Boucher
Tatum

White

If Trey avgs 25 ppg and 10 apg with Tatum at 28ppg and Brown 24 ppg we can deal with one weak defender.  Because Tatum,  Brown, White, Boucher are all really good to great on defense.

Small guards are a huge liability in the postseason. He will be targeted mercilessly. Brad wants players that can switch. Young is a terrible defender.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Boston should expend assets on a position of need, not a position of strength. If they expend the assets it should be for a big man, not another small player.

Trae is the modern Iverson, but with much worse defense (and it isn't like Iverson was a good defender).  He can work in the right system and as the focal point, but he wouldn't work on Boston.

So as I said above. NO.

Trae Young is under contract for $46M this season and $49M next.  Then he is a UFA and will probably get even bigger money.  That would be $195M for just 4 top players (Tatum, Brown, White, Young) in 2026-27.  All the other 10 or 11 contracts would need to be minimum or close to that.

You shouldn't turn Simons' contract into an even bigger contract.  You need to do just the opposite (ideally).  And we need more contracts like Pritchard ($7,767,857 in 2026) and Hauser ($10,848,215 in 2026), not fewer.  This is where team depth comes from.  Better to trade Simons for multiple players each making say $8M to $15M.  Taller versions of Pritchard and Hauser ideally.

I think Young is a good player, just not what BOS needs.

Also, No Way that get you TY!! I would assume Atlanta would want Jaylen Brown. I now live in SC a little more than an hour from Atlanta, TY is literally the face of the Organization.

I don't understand why ATL won't offer Trae a contract extension. They are building the team around him and doing a good job of it. What is the point if you don't keep the main man?

But Simmons, Hauser and Pritchard won't get you Trae Young.   I for one, do not want Trae Young, no defense.   I find this proposal unrealistic and more of a video game trade than real life NBA.

I would imagine a package for Young would start with Jaylen Brown.

That's a joke. I did say draft capital.  Trey wants to get paid.  Yes hawks can probably get more elsewhere,  but trae has some leverage telling other teams he won't resign.

If he wants to win and get paid Boston could be players.

Genuine question, when has someone as awful at defense as Young won a title as a top 3 or even 4 player?

Im probably missing someone but I can't think

Rumours are they don't want to pay the man.

Sorry when did iverson avg 11.5 assists per game? He never did.

Why trade Simons and two rotation players for a guy who is basically Simons?
