I'd say we're 4-for-4 today.  All these guys were in the 15 or so of BPAs.

Yeah, elite picks so far. I probably will go for more of a fit guy than BPA to break the trend.

Snively up next then me right?

While we wait, I'm curious:  how many of you reach out to other GMs or observers for advice?

I tend to be pretty chatty in these.  I like bouncing ideas off of people, both for my team and theirs.  It brings me back to the old school days, when we did these drafts purely for discussion.  There was no winner, or even voting in the first year.  Can you imagine?

I like to ask questions on fit. Sometimes I need a 2nd opinion on how players go together, and while I usually ask my bball friends I?ve tried sending out some messages too. I?ve enjoyed replying to some messages as well, sharing some opinions and perspectives

I like how Vince Carter can come off the bench and open up the offense for OKC.

G: SGA
G: Klay
F: Vince
F: Durant
C: Gobert / E Mobley

Start with the double big and defensive mindset. Big lineup. Then to be able to complete change-up the game by subbing out one of the two bigs for Vince and shifting Durant to PF.

Imagine trying to defend that. Nightmare. You have SGA at the top handling the ball and if you have to send help you will leave either Klay, Durant or Vince open behind the three. Or you leave the big open to wander down the lane for an easy dunk.

OKC can open the offense up even more by keeping Evan Mobley in there at C instead of Gobert. A 5 out offense. A strong ball-handler in Mobley who can attack open spaces. A better passer than Gobert who can be a playmaker on the short roll to those shooters spreading the floor.

SGA is the piece for me that makes it all work. His dribble penetration and scoring threat is what drives their offense. What creates easier opportunities for everyone else.

Love the Siakam pick. I strongly considered him as one of my backup 4 options before landing on Ibaka. Great versatility and a proven winner.

Pascal Siakam was one of the players I was considering in the early 5th round - when I picked Iggy - to be my starting SF.

I liked the idea of Siakam and KG together as long active defensive forwards.

Dons is on the clock, followed by Rody, a double dip from Tim, and then Rody and Dons again on the way back around

Redd's the guy that had me debating - love his game, but I needed quickness.

Michael Redd just belongs on the Milwaukee Bucks.

Chicago the 1st team to 10 players

G: Chauncey Billups, Deron Williams
G: Kobe Bryant, Eric Gordon
F: Jimmy Butler, Danny Granger
F: Pau Gasol, Rasheed Wallace Al Horford
C: Yao Ming, Tyson Chandler

* That is a whole lot of size in the paint. 3 seven footers. Yao at 7-6 300lbs. 3 skilled bigs. 1 hustle big.

* I love the PG tandem. They were #5 and #6 in my PG rankings. Two muscular well rounded PGs.

* It doesn't look a team that will play small ball much. Danny Granger at PF being the best option. Prefer to stay big. Horford gives the team a good small ball option without actually going small. Someone quick enough to stay with smaller players on defense and skilled enough to open the floor on offense without sacrificing real size.

* I love the Sheed & Pau big man combo. I think that will be the team's best lineup rather than with Yao on the floor. More speed & quickness (offensively & defensively). More spacing (offensively).

Yeah, I will still roll with with Horford & Pau as the best big man duo rather than Yao & Pau or Yao & Horford. Although I do like Yao and Horford. I might like that more than Yao & Pau. Probably more than the idea of Sheed & Yao too. Horford would work well with Yao.
