Choo choo!

Dybantsa or Boozer here we come. Then build for 2027 and beyond with the Jays, White, PP and Dybantsa/Boozer. Hopefully another significant addition as well.

I think next year?s squad is a play-in at best now even with the East being weak in general.

There's a big difference between being a play-in team and being a Top 3 pick in the draft. Will be interesting what direction they go in.

Would prefer the latter especially with JT missing most of the season anyways

I'd like to see Jaylen get really healthy and play few games, or ride him hard, put up huge numbers, and move him at the deadline for a package which contains an all-star and picks.

You can't tank with Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and Simons on the roster. We're going to be at least a .500 team. Our talent simply won't allow us to tank. Now if you traded JB for the #1 overall pick in Flagg we could have had a conversation but that didn't happen. So I just don't see it happening now.

Just as a reminder, even if the Celtics have one of the three worst records in the NBA (which they won't) they still only have about a 52.1% chance at a top 4 pick.

The good news is the 8th position in the lottery also has a 26.2% chance at a top 4 pick. So there's a possibility the flattened lotteyr odds help the c's out.

Tanking has not worked out well for this franchise.

I'm not ready to get on yet. I think we're going to be a top 6 seed at least with how weak the East will be. Without knowing what moves the other teams will make, as the rosters are right now you can't tell me we will be worse than WAS, CHA, BRK, TOR, ATL, CHI...and we're probably still better than IND without Hali, MIL without Dame, Brook and maybe Giannis, or MIA. That leaves CLE, NYK, ORL, PHI and maybe DET better than us.

If Dallas can obtain the #1 pick in the lottery, why can't the Celtics  ;D

Would JB to the Lakers for scraps be enough for Silver to give them AJ (AKA #1 pick). Bradley?

I?m on board. Middle of the pack is the worst place to be, IMO, and that?s what Boston seems headed for at this point.

Strange that Boston teams dominated over the last two decades but are now in something of a dark age. The Sox are painfully mediocre, the Bruins are about the same, and the Cs title window just slammed shut. The Pats seem to be heading in the right direction, but they haven?t proven anything yet. Depressing.

Yeah, I honestly think if you offered Dallas, Tatum & White for Flagg before the draft they would have taken it.

Brown could get us a war chest of future draft assets too.

The 2026 draft is also a unique opportunity to tank because of the talent available. Legitimate sources have stated there are at least 4 franchise calibre stars available in 2026 and there is usually someone else that will make a leap during the season too.

Darryn Peterson & Dybantsa have the hallmarks of generational superstars, and guys like, Boozer, Nate Ament, Chris Cenac Jr & Dash Daniels look like all-nba caliber talents.

That does not look like the direction ownership wants to go down. You can only hope they are correct.

I did not realize the odds were that high now. Those are pretty good odds. I thought it would be less than 10%.

I think this is where I fall, and (perhaps controversially) I have no desire to watch a tanking team compared to a team that just isn't that good.

The East doesn't have any top tier contenders but there are a lot of good teams.  Boston is no better than a play in team if Brown stays mostly healthy.  They are not a drag though and that is what they should be going for.  Boston absolutely should tank this season and get out of the tax entirety to start that clock over as well.
