What are your predictions for the 2nd (32) pick tonight? I really like Kalkbrenner and I think he would be a Great fit, but this is Brad, so my Prediction is:

Celtics pick 32 - Tyrese Proctor

The center from Stanford. Raynaud.

I'm wondering if the Spurs try to trade up with Minnesota and grab him. I was watching some of the post draft coverage, and someone mentioned that Raynaud and Wembanyama are best friends.

Fleming is probably the best value pick, but I'd imagine we go with Raynaud or Kalkbrenner.

Or we trade back a few spots and pick up another future 2nd and still get one of these guys.

If it's not Fleming, Raynaud or Kalkbrenner, I'll be upset.  I expect to be upset.

But, if we do take one of the three, I'm guessing Kalkbrenner, because I'm guessing that Brad saw a lot of him while scouting Scheierman.

Fleming, Raynaud or Kalkbrenner. It should be an easy pick for Brad.

I'd take Fleming if he is there.

Charlotte needs a big as well.  I can see them jumping the C's and picking Raynaud.  I can also see the C's drop down to gather a future 2nd to utilize to try and get off of a contract or two.  But I'm hoping they stay and pick a big at 31.  Even if they resign one or both of Al and Kornet they still need a young big to develop.  Raynaud is a great fit as a reserve.  His lack of perimeter D may hold him back from developing into a starter some day.

No love for Theiro?  A tweener wing who plays nutso defense and has a jumper that is coming along that sounds like us

Are Reynaud or Kalkbrenner likely to be any better than Queta?  If so, take one, but if not I think Flemming is more interesting based on scouting reports.

If the C's add Hugo and Flemming, they add two high energy multi-positional defenders. Of course this doesn't replace the loss of Jrue in Year 1, but in years 2 or 3 - maybe.  Both seem to have upside and both seem to be players who will play NBA minutes just based on their motors and size.

C's have an array of offensive contributors (at full strength): JT, JB, DW, PP, Simons, Al (Sam if he's here; Baylor).   Having more focus on D is a good direction.  And Flemming looks to be a competent offensive player, and Hugo is young and may develop his shot.

Anyway - I feel like Flemming should be the pick.

wonder if C's could talk Charlotte into 32 for 33 and 34 so they can get 2 of Fleming, Reynaud, Kalkbrenner, Penda or Theiro.

maybe have to kick in a future 2nd or better if we could package the pick with one of Tillman, Davison, Nieng.

highly doubt they could be talked into it but would be great for the C's.

Kalkbrenner is not an NBA player imo. Reynaud brings a desired skillset that could be helpful though. You could see him being this year's Jay Huff or Quinten Post.

Most likely it will be someone who - to date - has never been linked to the C's.

I'd probably prefer Kalkbrenner with this pick, though I'm pretty much just hoping that he's Kornet - a solid backup big with some matchup limitations.  My expectations aren't particularly high for the guys available at this pick.

Fleming probably has the most upside of the guys left but his main criticism from scouts is his ability to process the game.  I don't think a guy who already doesn't read the game well at the college level is going to translate to the NBA.  But if we pick him, I get it - if we can teach him to basketball, the tools are spicy.  He's not my first choice but taking a swing on a high-upside guy with a lot of bust potential is fine with me.

I have some interest in Chaz Lanier but he's probably a reach at 32.

Well his jumper is doing the opposite of coming along.  He actively got worse from three over the course of his college career.  If the jumper was coming along he'd be gone already.

To me this all depends on if we are bringing Luke back.  If we are. and the C's know that, then I say draft Fleming.   If the other centers just look like they maybe turn out as good as Luke if we are lucky.

If Luke isn't likely to resign, then all we have is Queta and Tillman, we have to draft a center.  Or maybe we don't care, lost year anyways, start Queta and play him all year?

even though Joe couldn't find hardly any minutes for Queta n the playoffs (which seemed crazy to me then and now).
