Celtics -> Dominant, 16-3 playoffs, my favorite team
Thunder -> 68 wins and a championship. Would be above us honestly if they hadn't been pushed to 7 twice
Raptors -> Loved this team, but hard to put a 58 win team over 68 and 64 game winners.
Bucks -> Fortunate to have faced a dead Nets team, but this team was really excellent
Lakers -> I think they get over-hated on a bit. Fortunate to get to rest AD and James with Covid. But peak AD and Lebron is a playoff nightmare
Warriors -> Steph Curry was magic, but I think this title run was more about good fortune than anything else
Nuggets -> This team really didn't do much for me. Won 53 games and then Murray just played way over his level for a month and they were lucky the East put forth an 8 seed in the finals.

I was just looking at this list of title winners for the last 7 years and was taken aback at how underwhelming a group of Champions they are.

Has there been a worse 7 year period of title winners?

* Going back to the 60s you had the iconic Bill Russell title winning teams and the great 1967 76ers led by Wilt.

* The 70s had a bunch of iconic teams. The NY Knicks with Walt Frazier and Willis Reed. The Bucks with Kareem and Oscar. The Lakers with Wilt and West. A fantastic Celtics team that gets overlooked because it was in between B Russell and L Bird. Then the late 70s is a bit so-so. POR, WAS, SEA.

* Then the 80s pickup again with the Magic led Lakers and the Bird led Celtics. With Doc and Moses getting in there in 1983. Even the Bad Boys of the late 80s were an iconic team.

* The 90s had Jordan's Bulls running riot on the league.

* The 2000s had Shaq and Kobe. Then a bunch of Duncan rings. Finishing the decade with the KG / Pierce Celtics and the Kobe / Pau Lakers.

* The 2010s had the Heattles with LeBron, Wade, and Bosh. Then the Warriors with Steph and later Durant.

* The 2020s have had nothing. No iconic teams. None that will last in the memory outside of the fan bases of those specific teams. I couldn't even remember who won the last 7 titles. I had to look them up. A forgettable bunch.

I mean, both the 24 Celtics and 25 Thunder were historically dominant and statistically arguably top 10 level teams all time.

That said, the increased parity and lack of repeats definitely does impact how they're perceived and remembered, as individual teams are perceived as less dominant and "iconic" with this level of parity.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

This is it - what leaps out to me immediately is the incredible individual players behind each of the teams (Giannis & Jokic in particular) but this is what happens when the league puts measures in place to make it difficult to create and maintain super teams.
