The New Orleans Pelicans are trading CJ McCollum, Kelly Olynyk and a future second-round pick to the Washington Wizards for Jordan Poole, Saddiq Bey and the No. 40 pick, sources tell ESPN.

2 teams going nowhere just shuffling deck chairs on their own Titanics.

think I like this more for Wash than I do for NO just because I'm not big on Poole.

Could mean the Pels have other bigs in mind to pair with Zion (Zinger?).

Could also be two of the worst run franchises over the last decade continuing to struggle to build good rosters.

The Pels did get younger. I don't see a difference between Poole and McCullom in effectiveness - the only difference is consistency vs. erratic play.

Why did the Wizards do this? Are they trying to get all of the best 2nd tier players from 5 years ago on the same team?

WTH are these two doing?

NO absolutely has ruined its franchise over the past 5 years.

For what? To be a place where more bloated contracts are traded to to collect more 2nd round picks?

No player of significance is going to Washington unless Sarr or Bub or Coulibaly becomes a force this year.

Wizards freed up salary cap space for next year.  With CJ over pool they will have 100m in cap space.  Poole had 2 years on his deal and CJ 1.  Not sure why anyone would want Poole.  I'm not very high on him as a player.

Simons for Marcus and more draft compensation would be great.  Saving another $6 million and getting someone who fits Jrue?s role and knows the team would be a home run for the first round of salary cutting.  It?s been my hope for weeks, but I have not wanted to say it aloud because Marcus can be polarizing.

I had the Pelicans taking Jeremiah Fears in my mock but not so sure they would take him after acquiring Poole. Maybe they take Maluach.

He's an erratic CJ McCullom.
