The recent Shams tweet makes me think the C's will also trade both Hauser AND Porzingis

What does it say?

Who knows at this point?   Brad seems to pull rabbits out of his hat over and over again.

If trading Sam and KP can get us a really good starting big that is more reliable than KP and also has a high ceiling, please make it happen.

Nazz Reid? He seemed pretty durable the last two seasons

I don't think A Simons has much trade value. I am not sure we can expect much in return for him.

Some potential landing spots:

* DET = He could work well at PG alongside Cade Cunningham. Better off ball shooter than Jaden Ivey. A better fit. Maybe something there.

* MIL = While Lillard is out, A Simons would be a good stand in. Possibly a long term replacement for Lillard with Lillard being sent on somewhere else. Only pieces they have to offer are Kuzma or B Portis.

* HOU = A Simons would be good in Houston but I don't see any contracts that they have left to trade.

Toronto have Quickley. New Orleans have McCollum. Utah has C Sexton. Chicago has Coby White. Brooklyn have D Russelll & Cam Thomas. Miami has T Herro. LAL has A Reaves.

Sacramento has Malik Monk. Maybe you could take the Kings into A Simons being more of a PG and do a Monk for A Simons swap. Washington already has J Poole. Phoenix already have a logjam with their 3 SGs in Jalen Green, D Booker, B Beal. Not sure you could talk them into an A Simons for Jalen Green based swap.

* MIN = they need some more offense from the backcourt alongside Ant. Preferably a true PG but a scoring combo guard could work okay. Not sure they have much to offer. Maybe Donte DiVincenzo.

* LAC = they have Norm Powell. Maybe they want more offense. A Simons has more on-ball creation than N Powell. Maybe a swap involving the two of them. Or a swap for Bogdanovic with N Powell and A Simons starting together in the backcourt.

* DEN = A Simons & Hauser for Michael Porter Jr. C Braun sliding over to SF. A Simons and J Murray in the backcourt. Not sure why BOS would want to do that though.

* GSW = Sign and trade option for Jonathon Kuminga?

He has a nice stroke from three as well.

There were pretty significant rumors around Simons and the Bulls last week.

Could we pry Lonzo Ball from the Bulls?  Is he healthy?  I always thought that he would be a great fit w/ JB&JT.
Great defender, great passer, with excellent size and length.

It?s sad that the Jrue/DW/JB/JT/KP era only brought us one championship. I was so confident we?d get at least 2 with this core. I wish Jrue nothing but the best and hope he doesn?t take this personally against Brad. He did give him a nice extension.

He's one of the low-risk, high-upside players I've thought about too.

Thanks for the title run, Jrue!  A total class act, and I am sorry he is gone after only two years.

I do not expect Simons to make it through the summer a Celtic.

Ball-DWhite-JB-JT-KP starting lineup for 2026-27?  If KP can stay relatively healthy is that starting lineup a contender?

Yes, I am actually really sad to see Jrue go.  Class act, great player, great person.  Perfect maturity and experience that helped JT/JB take the next step.

Do we hope "multiple key players" involves Jaylen Brown for a top 2 pick or Giannis?

if it is a top 2 pick and you are JT do you want to wait around 3-4 years to maybe be a contender again?

If Brad trades JB it better be for a freaking haul.   JB has won a title for our team, and last year played injured for 1/2 a season to try and get us back for a deep playoff run.

He has spent more time hurt than playing or am I confusing him and his brother ?
We don't need more injury prone guys.

Is Simons interested in signing an extension with the Celtics ?
The fact that we went out and acquired yet another 3-point heavy guard is not encouraging to me.
When is Brad going to figure out that our current extreme 3-point scheme does not work ?
It cost us games 1 & 2 at home vs Knicks.

Wow, did not see this one coming.  The question is why does Portland want Holiday?  I think the reason is that Holiday has more value than Simons.  Not necessarily to Portland, but Holiday has more trade value than Simons overall.  The Celtics were so hamstrung due to the second apron that it was hard for them to trade Holiday.  Portland will have a lot more flexibility to make something work.  We'll see.

As to Simons, maybe for the Celtics, it is easier to move an expiring contract for something.  I don't know.  I have been saying all along that I think BOS is targeting 2026-27 to get back on track for salaries.  Or maybe there is a team that will be more willing to take on Simons in a salary dump trade.

I think this will work out for Portland.  I expect them to flip Holiday for some decent value.  More value than they could have gotten in a straight trade for Simons.  For BOS, this seems more about 2026 than 2025.
