Brad Stevens on Hugo Gonzalez: "He's tough. He's hard-playing. He cuts. He goes after the ball. He competes. He's got all the intangibles of a winning basketball player."

Well I watched a couple draft videos of Hugo.  Yes what Brad says is true, he looks like he moves without the ball well.  Pretty much that is the only thing that stood out.  Wasn't a lot of info on his def, he doesn't look particularly fast / quick.  I am still bleh on the pick.   I hope he is better than Baylor, and he gets some run this year if we don't trade him.

People expecting Boston to make a bunch more trades. I don't see it. Maybe one more in order to resign Al. But I think Simons, Hugo and unfortunately Niang all are on the opening night roster.

Oh I am not expecting anything, I have no idea.  It has just been stated by others that we would need to trade away some salary to be able to resign Al or Luke.   I guess I automatically just grouped Hugo with Niang, and Simons as I don't know if they will be here at the start of the season.

Clayton Jr is another guy who will be better than half the guys taken ahead of him. Great pick.

Maybe the bigs will come through free agency/trades? Sabonis?  ;D

I don't know what we have left that Sac would want other than JB / White, and I don't see either one getting moved, much less for Sabonis.  I like Sabonis a lot though, he would be a great fit.

Of course Pat Riley took him. Doesn?t sting as bad as the Tyler Herro pick since he was t going to fa to us but that?s great value at 20.
Why does Demin go #8 and Kasparas Jakucionis go #20?

I would've thought Jakucionis is the better prospect.

I like that Jase Richardson pickup for Orlando. Their backup PG is weak with Cory Joseph. Jase has a real chance to beat him out for those minutes.

Why did Brooklyn take 2 playmaking PGs so close together? Nolan Traore and Ben Saraf. I like the picks individually. But a lot of overlap there.

So the Nets 5 first rounders were:

#8 - Egor Demin
#19 - Nolan Traore
#22 - Drake Powell
#26 - Ben Saraf
#27 - Danny Wolf

** Draft Board needs to switch #22 pick to Brooklyn as part of the Porzingis trade. BKN got Terrence Mann and the #22 pick in the deal.

An underwhelming group of picks. Egor Demin is a high risk prospect. Does not look ready to play. N Traore is talented but raw and will need time. Drake Powell is a solid 3+D type low ceilng. Ben Saraf an interesting playmaker at PG. Probably the most ready to play and could be their backup PG next season. Danny Wolf as a Mo Wagner type skilled big that will likely need a few seasons to learn how to work defensively without killing his team.

Little to no help for next season. A lot of risk in their lotto pick and their next 1st. Limited upside in their final 3 picks.

Bad day to be a Nets fan.
