Walker Kessler and Utah Jazz at an impasse over a contract extension. Decide to end talks.

Good decision for Utah. Always likely to overpay a guy like that. Let him go to RFA and see what the market is for him. Decide then.

I'm sure it'll be something related to self promotion.  I saw something where it might be tied to Amazon Prime.

So excited for the Decision. The first one went so well.

If this is about retirement it?s a reflection on just how self-important he is.  If it?s a promotional game he?s playing it?s just obnoxious.  Here is a guy worth over $1B working the fans to get more.

I look forward to him being out of the league. He?s done some charitable work - hope he focuses on that.

Will be interesting to see if he is put on the trade market vs. waiting and testing market value.  I believe the QO is $14.6M for 2026-27.  Hard to know what kind of dollars were being discussed.  UTA is already paying for Markkanen but otherwise that cap sheet is in pretty good shape.  They can certainly afford to QO, but there is still risk to lose him for nothing.

I actually didn't mind the second decision.  LeBron took some shots at himself, which I appreciated.  I mean the whole thing was dumb, but thought it was fine and solid promotion.

It brought eyeballs to the brand, so mission accomplished.  But, the whole thing was corny.

(9 mins ago) Davison recorded 17 points (6-9 FG, 5-7 3Pt), four assists, three rebounds and one turnover across 22 minutes of Monday's 122-113 preseason win over Atlanta.
Davison, who was the 2024-25 G League MVP, has been earning rave reviews in training camp. The Rockets signed him to a two-way contract, but due to Fred VanVleet's (knee) injury, he could find himself in the mix for backup point guard minutes if he can build on this momentum.

It's amazing how great someone can be at basketball and not be a great fit for the NBA.

if he makes it in Houston, maybe it's an issue with how he was handled in Boston.  we'll have to see if a different organization can get more from him.

I think we all saw plenty of JD Davison here in Boston.  What I saw was a fringe NBA player whose clock in BOS simply ran out.  They moved on to Hugo and other 2-way guys.  I would be very surprised if he made a big leap now that he is in HOU, but maybe he will.  I certainly did not see that coming.  Good for him if he does.  But he was given plenty of opportunity here in BOS in my opinion.  I will root for him.

Apparently Victor Wembanyama is now listed by the team at 7-4, which means he could easily be 7-5 in shoes. Given he is still only 21, Wembanyama may not be done growing either.

At his height, he will be defying history if he does not have a career blighted by injuries.

Unfortunately, really tall big men are more susceptible to injuries. See: Yao Ming, Embiid, Porzingis etc. Nonetheless, would still be nice to watch him and the Spurs dominate their conference some day.

I don't disagree with anything you said.  My curiosity goes to whether JD becomes anything in Houston and if so, was that due to Houston doing something different, Boston not doing something right or a combination of both.
