Knicks are a plateau team.  I think conference finals is their peak with this current core.  A change in coaching isn't going to move the needle there, IMO.   If they want to take the next step, it's gonna have to be roster changes and they don't exactly have a ton of flexibility at the moment.   They'll be a false hope there next season with the East being rather weak and in flux and facing a potential Tatum-less season.

The writing have been on the wall for ages. Mikal Bridges who is an ironman that never complains, publicly spoke out against Thibs rotation policies.

I would actually love for Thibs to come back to the Celtics as a defensive assistant.

I think that is his best role, Thibs needs limits and boundaries.

I agree.  I mean, the fact that they were something like 1-7 against Boston over the past two regular seasons (with a double figure loss margin) I think says a lot about the capabilities of that team.  If the Celtics didn't lose their mental composure completely in the playoffs and give up big 4th quarter leads then they likely would have lost 1-4 to Boston in the semis.  They were extremely fortunate to get as far as they did.

Thibs might be a good coach for Phoenix. Get them playing defense again after that pitiful effort under Budenholzer.

What does this say about us? Thibs pantsed mazzula in the second round, the Knicks were horrible and should?ve never made it past us, injuries or no injuries. We choked.

There's plenty of blame to go around. I know Joe becomes the lightning rod whenever something goes wrong, but I still think those losses had more to do with Tatum and Brown's laxidaisical approach than anything.

Agreed. You can?t have a 6?1? guard as your best player and expect to contend. They really needed Bridges to play at a near all-star level and he didn?t. OG was better, IMO.

In a normal season I'd agree, but next year the East is very weak and is also very wide open.  You have the Pacers, Knicks, and Cavs as likely top 4 teams.  After that, who knows, and none of those teams are scary.  A coaching change might just do the trick to get the Knicks past the Pacers and into the Finals.  Can't envision them winning the Finals against whatever teams comes out of the West, but a Finals appearance is certainly on the table if they get better coaching.

I?m a Joe guy?I like Joe. He got out coached pretty badly and it was a problem?certainly not the only problem but it was among the big reason they choked that series away
