2nd apron issues coming down the road for that franchise.  They'll need to capitalize on the window they have now.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander met the super max criteria (All-NBA in 2 out of 3 years) last offseason but was ineligible to sign because he was short of the years of service criteria.

He is eligible this offseason to sign a four-year $293M extension with OKC.

Because he won MVP (and this would have applied to being named All-NBA this year), SGA is now eligible to sign a five-year $380M extension but would have to wait until the 2026 offseason.

Good player, obviously, but I'm not a fan of foul hunters winning MVP.

Well deserved even if I?m not a huge fan and hate the foul baiting nonsense?he?s pretty lined up to win the title and finals mvp now as well which will be pretty legendary.
Congrats to Tatum on finishing 4th! Kind of a disaster he?s going to miss all of last season, completely changes so many trajectories and I no longer see him ever winning an mvp..

Jokic could get it every year?
SGA deserved it, best player on the best team with really good stats, also a better defender then jokic

Viewership was down 24% for game 1 of the WCF as compared to last season. Nobody wants to watch a flopper like SGA get rewarded with phantom fouls. And now he gets the MVP. The NBA better rethink this SGA treatment or else they might lose more viewers. I?m interested to see the ECF numbers with flopper #2 playing in that series. Better yet, i want to see the numbers if OKC and NY meet in the finals. That would be a real litmus test to see how fans view SGA and Brunson?s style of play.

The Joker averaged a triple double for the year.  Only three players in NBA history have done that.  Yeah, he's the MVP!

SGA led the league in Winshares. Now Jokic did have a better on/off differential, but SGA was still an elite +11.1 and the Thunder won 18 more games, which is more than Utah won in the entire season.

And I know the Thunder are a deep team, but Murray is the 3rd best player on those teams and Chet played in only 32 on the year and they only had 4 players hit 70 games so they weren't the picture of health.

Jokic is a better player, but SGA was the MVP this year.

Similar to what happened to them in 2012. KD/Harden/Westbrook/Ibaka. Had to get broken up.
