Rumors circulating Warriors want White.

No interest in Podz. No interest in Moody.

Kuminga (sign and trade) and 2/3 1sts MAY start a dialogue, but probably not.

Keep dreaming, Warriors.

Thoughts?

Everybody wants Derrick White and other teams have better assets than the Warriors.

We aren't allowed to accept a player in a sign and trade, but a 3rd team could. So if the Warriors want to give us a couple of 1sts and the team accepting Kuminga wants to add a couple of 1sts, then maybe we can talk. But let's be real, Kuminga isn't getting much of a return on the trade market.

If we are talking about a strict salary cap dump, a swap of D White for Podz wouldn't be a bad option. Get below the 2nd apron. Cost controlled first round pick in Podz. Save about $30mil per year.

Podz nice well rounded game. Surprisingly useful defender. Excellent rebounder. Good secondary ball-handling and passing. Needs to be more consistent in his shooting in order to be more consistent in his scoring.

Keep Jrue. Keep Porzingis. Keep Hauser.

G: Jrue, Pritchard
G: Podz, Scheierman
F: Jaylen, Hauser
F: (Tatum), Horford
C: Porzingis, (Kornet or FA center)

I think Podz gets exposed against higher level athleticism and competition. He's a good defensive rebounder, average defender, average creator, and below average shooter.

Not a guy I think you can count on in the playoffs.

I should clarify. We aren't currently allowed to receive a player via sign and trade, but we could if we first got below the 2nd apron, and then then result of the s&t deal got us below the 1st apron. So your Naz dream is still technically alive.

White is arguable the 2nd or 3rd most valuable player on this team that pretty much stays healthy, shoots 3s, blocks shots.....why would we trade him?? I can understand Jrue (age & contract). I can understand Porzingis (contract and ebola virus & disappears every year in playoffs), but D White?? No way!

I doubt the FO has any desire to trade White, but we would trade him if we are unable to offload Jrue without giving up picks; and we find out another team is offering us multiple 1sts, salary relief, and an exciting young player. Or just salary relief and 4-5 1sts.

In short, if somebody is willing to give us a Mikal Bridges like haul for White, then I think we would trade him. It would set us up for the future and we'd still have a strong core moving forward.

These GS options aren't great tbh. They seem more like Jrue type trades than White imo.

White is a smaller guard that will be 31 when next season starts.  He has nice value, but he isn't getting a Bridges like haul.

That's only because nobody is getting a Bridges-like return. White is one of the healthiest players in the league and is signed on a good contract for four more years. As a high end role player (that sounds insulting, I don't mean it that way), there is literally nobody better in the league. I'm not sure what we would get, but his value would be surprisingly high if you canvassed the league. And, sure he is almost 31, but he has only been in the league for 8 years (and he barely played his rookie year), so he doesn't have a lot of mileage on his body.

Bridges was 28.  3 years is a lot in the NBA.  Obviously White is an excellent player and is worth his contract, but he isn't getting a haul given his age and his overall skill set (i.e. he isn't a #1 and probably not a #2, but a solid #3 offensive option).

I'm of the belief, Boston should rebuild.  I think they should make wholesale changes as I don't see them contending at all in the future with roughly the same core.  Tatum may never be the same, Brown is becoming more injury prone and I'm not sure how much time he has left at a high level, the Zinger is obviously always hurt and he is getting old enough any season could be his last, and obviously Holiday and Horford are nearing the end (or may be at it).  Given the massive salary and Tatum's injury, the team should go full on rebuild.  I don't think they will, but they should.  I mean Boston was down 3-1 to the Knicks this year with a mostly healthy team.  They just aren't going to be good enough.  Trade what you can and rebuild.

I understand your post. However you don?t give players away. White is a quality nba player. You don?t trade him for .75 cents on the dollar. It?s bad business and bad basketball. I?m not saying you have to be Danny Ainge here but the trades I?ve seen I don?t like. If you?re doing a trade for 60 , 75 cents on the dollar it?s probably  for Holiday not White.
