If you want to give JB a slight edge defensively (not that he was anything special in the playoffs this year) that?s fine.
KD gets the edge in scoring by a wide margin. FT/shooting by a wide margin. KD is better at passing, rebounding and most importantly his decision making/BBIQ is better by a wide margin. He?s an all time great player for a reason. Brown is not.
KD will be 37 in September, and 38 before JT gets back on the court. How much does KD have left in the tank at 38? How much does anyone who is 38 (and isn't Lebron)? You really want to trade our 2nd best player for a guy that is 8 years older? I don't think we are doing that.
Jayson Tatum's father, Justin Tatum, believes his son could return to the court within eight to nine months after suffering a ruptured right Achilles tendon. This would put Tatum on track to potentially return around mid-January.
Also, regarding KD being 36, players are able to perform at a high level later into their careers now. Prime examples being Brady, LeBron, Djokovic. Steph Curry is another one.
I?d take 2-3 years of KD over 4 years of JB.
Tatum's father's opinion on his return from the injury at this point means nothing. The C's will more likely be conservative with his return, and won't push him back too soon. Tom Brady, Djokovic don't play basketball, not appropriate to compare. Lebron is a freak of nature, and you saw how many games that GS got out of Curry in this playoffs.
I am glad we won't be trading for KD. He is a great player but he is out of his prime, and he will be 38 by the time Tatum plays again, and would be a waste of any assets we would trade for him. Also as Tazz says the trade doesn't work.
