I have no dreams of this team coming back and winning this series or making a miracle run to the Finals without their star player, but for one night I?d just like to see the core of this team rally around the situation and go down fighting.  They still have enough talent to show up and compete and win a game on determination.  I know the Garden crowd will rally around the team.

It?s a win one for the Gipper kind of game.  You don?t get to see to many games like this.  Where the outcome isn?t as important as the statement.  I look back at McHale?s last game as an example.

If you?re going to go down.  Go down fighting.

It might be your last time to be a defending champ.  Play like it.

Go Celts!
Yup

I am rooting tonight to win tonight.   I think the players are going to be up for this game to do the following:

1)  Win one for Tatum
2)  Who their pride after hearing nothing about how they now have no chance from both outside of Boston and from their fans
3)  Because they are still good players

I think even with Tatum out we're still a better team than them - if KP and Jaylen were fully healthy. They don't seem to be. But it's not like they're miles better than us. I think we should be able to rally for one more game, and then we can see what happens after that.

I can definitely see it.

But, if they don't, I guess it's understandable.  It's been a long season after a shortened off-season (particularly for JB and Jrue), KP isn't right, most of the rotation is struggling with a recent injury, and they're all emotionally drained / devastated.  And, they don't have Knute Rockne motivating them, haha.

I believe it will go the other way. They will give up.

Jaylen and Porzingis are too banged up. Not enough fight left. If those guys were healthy, yeah sure I'd expect a positive reaction to Tatum's injury. But those guys are struggling. I don't think it will take much to knock this team on their ass right now.

I expect them to collapse tonight. Give up. Let it go. Take the easy way out. Start their summer.

Most fans have given up, at least many on this site seem to have. How do they feel? Will they be mad if team doesn?t show pride?

I haven't given up but losing Tatum is a huge blow... I hope to see Joe play more guys tonight and throw the kitchen sink at the Knicks!

I haven't given up, but I no longer have any expectations of them winning a championship.  Or this round even really.  I'm always going to pull for the Celtics.  I was rooting when we had Brett Szabo!

I just see tonight as a special opportunity to step up and show some pride.
Yup

It will come down to two things for a win tonight. Porzingis said he is starting to feel better with more energy. If tonight he feels even better and can come out and resemble the player that he is by bringing a lot better rim protection and a good scoring option than that?s huge.
Jaylen Brown?s knee feels a little better.
If Jaylen is still feeling it without any improvement then it will be tough being the first option tonight.

Maybe both are feeling better and they win tonight and a few nights later feel even better and we have a series again.
Who knows, we will find out tonight.
But if they are going down then at least go down fighting.

I will watch them because that is what we do. Watch until the end. I feel no worry. No dread tonight.

I have accepted that they most likely lose tonight and I am at peace with it. If they win, I will be happy.

Yeah honestly I'm not even worried. Because I've already accepted they're getting eliminated this round anyways. If they can extend the season a few more days until Friday night? Great. If not, so be it.
