R.I.P Val Kilmer

Val Kilmer, the actor best known for his roles in Top Gun, Batman Forever and The Doors, has died at the age of 65.

His daughter Mercedes told the New York Times that the cause of death was pneumonia. Kilmer was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 and later recovered, after treatment with chemotherapy and trachea surgery that had reduced his vocal capability.

One of those actors who had a memorable presence on the screen.   I thought his performance in Tombstone as Doc Holiday was mesmerizing - owned every scene he was in.  RIP.

The auto-documentary he did a few years back was a good watch.

Top Secret was so silly.  Loved it.  It still has one of my all time favorite bits with the singing pony who starts coughing.  "He's a little hoarse." lol

Kilmer as Doc Holliday is my favorite role of his. The slow but steady building of tension between him and Johnny Ringo is a great subplot, and Doc's controlled bravado in the face of deteriorating health is stellar.

whole movie is a classic.  that scene with Lucy Gutteridge getting off the motorbike is the one I point out to my wife every time we get back from riding around in our convertible.
