Keep attacking Garland!

Brown is hard to guard when his focus is sharp.

This is where JB is so good and valuable. When the defense starts hedging and focusing so heavily on stopping Tatum, he's so crafty and able to then take over games.

For all the talk about them not being complementary or having too similar of games, I think they do an excellent job of playing off of each other.

Even if Cleveland wins this game, I wonder how confident their fanbase is against a fully healthy Celtics team in a 7 game series.  The only potential resistance to Tatum and Brown is Hunter.  Okoro is billed as a good defender, but he hasn't been able to slow them down.  Garland and Mitchell will again get exploited defensively.  Wade is a decent defender but cannot consistently guard either of them.

That does surprise me. Okoro is a bit small for a forward. Maybe too small for Tatum but I would expect him to be big enough to defend Jaylen well.

The question for me with Okoro in the past has always been can he make enough shots to stay on the court for CLE to get the benefit of his good defense ... but yeah, he doesn't seem to have much impact against Jaylen or Tatum. He is better than that defensively. It is confusing.

I wonder what the advanced stats say when he guards them.  The eye test from what I've seen hasn't shown that he gives either of them much of a hard time.
One guy I've noticed that seems to give Tatum some difficulty is Scotty Barnes.

Defense is strange that way.  I remember Ray Allen used to guard Kobe Bryant really well even though defense wasn't his strong suit.  Then I'd observe Ray get absolutely cooked over and over by Joe Johnson.

JB is so strong, he can still attack the rim against larger players, that collapses the opposing def and then we get wide open 3s.

plus brown is flat out strong. he muscles inside and gives a different look to the offense. so yeah, i think you are spot on about their games meshing.

Just turned on the volume to hear the Garden crowd after that run and was greeted by 10 straight seconds of fingernails-on-a-chalkboard Doris Burke. Oh, she is bad and just blabbers inane comments, "Jaylen Brown with the size differential". Uh, Doris, is Jaylen Brown a car part on a rear axle ? Size difference, not differential.

Garland isn't having a bad game at all, but it's also not "great". They need him to function as the legit #2 and against Boston he just isn't able to which puts more pressure on Mitchell.

Yeah Mobley could also probably do more as well, he has the skills. But Mitchell-Garland is the 1-2 duo
