First, it's weird to me that there are 10 "starters", but there will be three teams of All-Stars at the All-Star game.  Shouldn't there be 15 starters, plus whoever makes up the Rising Stars roster?

Anyway...

East:

Jayson Tatum
Karl Anthony Towns
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Donovan Mitchell
Jalen Brunson

West:

Nikola Jokic
Kevin Durant
Lebron James
Shai Gilgeous Alexander
Steph Curry

I wish they'd just name all-stars and give all players several days off and leave it at that. The players don't care about the game, most of the people we'd want to see in the dunk competition never participate, and the other events are just "meh" to me.

TV money and sponsorships, my man.

I don't know why people tune in and watch, but apparently enough folks do that the broadcast rights are worth more than nothing.

Yeah, I know it's all about the money, but I'm with you: I have no idea why people watch that crap.

Barkley, Shaq and Kenny gave their choices for the ASG. All 3 of them selected both Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown as starters. I was surprised they all had Jaylen given the season he has had.

Chuck

G: J Brunson
G: D Mitchell
F: J Brown
F: J Tatum
C: K Towns

No Giannis!

Shaq

G: J Brunson
G: D Mitchell
F: J Brown
F: J Tatum
C: Giannis

No center. Giannis at center.

Both Shaq & Kenny had Donovan Mitchell and Jalen Brunson at guard.

Kenny

G: J Brown
G: J Tatum
F: Giannis
F: E Mobley
C: Towns

Kenny did not understand he had to select 2 guards and 3 frontcourt players. So JB and JT are at guard.

Shaq, Kenny and Charles gave their picks for the reserves as well. All 3 had Cade Cunningham, Darius Garland and Trae Young there. I wouldn't have picked Garland. I don't think he has had an All-Star season.

Shaq and Kenny had Lillard but Chuck didn't. Kenny and Charles both had LaMelo Ball but Shaq did not.

Charles had Giannis in his reserves along with Siakam and Bam. Shaq had Towns in his reserves along with E Mobley and T Herro. Kenny had Donovan Mitchell and Jalen Brunson in his reserves.

Shaq

G: Cade Cunningham
G: D Garland
G: Trae Young
G: D Lillard
G: T Herro
F: E Mobly
C: K Towns

Shaq did not have LaMelo Ball on his team but regretted it after seeing Chuck and Kenny's lists. He wanted to swap out T Herro for LaMelo.

Kenny

G: Cade Cunningham
G: D Garland
G: Trae Young
G: D Lillard
G: LaMelo Ball
G: Donovan Mitchell
G: Jalen Brunson

All guard selection! Again, Kenny did not understand he needed 2 guards, 3 frontcourt guys and then had 2 wild cards.

Chuck

G: Cade Cunningham
G: D Garland
G: Trae Young
G: LaMelo Ball
F: P Siakam
F: Giannis
C: Bam

After seeing everyone's teams, Chuck said he would change Bam for T Herro on his team. Chuck also said he picked Giannis as a reserve because he went with Jaylen Brown over Giannis as the final frontcourt starter. JB > Giannis.

Ernie

Ernie gave his picks at the end. He waited until after the starters were announced so he only had reserves.

G: Cade Cunningham
G: Trae Young
G: D White
G: D Lillard
G: LaMelo Ball
F: Jaylen Brown
F: E Mobley

Nice to see Cade Cunningham on all 4 teams. I'd like to see him get selected.

With you on all points ........... forget all-stars and just name an All-NBA team post season and schedule a mid-season break for the league.
While we are at it, cancel the stupid Cup tournament as well.

I don't mind having the Skills Competition, rookie events, dunk contest and the 3-point contest.

But yeah the game itself is absolutely pointless.

If the players still want to go to the city of the events and maybe meet the media or do advertising, that's fine, but ultimately most of them can just not play and still "rest" that week.
