I'm pretty skeptical the Jazz would do this, but I'm curious if there are any Celtics fans who wouldn't?

Celtics trade:  Springer, Scheierman, 2027 #1, 2026 #2

Jazz trade:  Kessler, Svi

I would love this, but just don?t see how another team doesn?t outbid us for Kessler especially since our 1sts are likely not that valuable in comparison to some other teams.

I love Kessler. Starting caliber center. Definitely worth 2 1sts. Happy to pay more. Good long term replacement for Al Horford.

Yeah, I'd probably add a 1st to the deal.

It would essentially leave us out of draft capital other than a couple of #2s.

My analysis is that I feel Kessler is worth a first round pick, at least, so a 1st and a 2nd is about right.  Springer is the salary match.  So I would do that part.  I would try to send them Tillman for Svi over Scheierman.  That is not so much about talent as it is maintaining roster balance.  If we brought in Kessler, that would give us 6 bigs on the roster:

Porzingis, Horford, Kornet, Queta, Tillman + Kessler

Kessler probably beats out Kornet for the 3rd big, Kornet is still useful as the 4th big, Queta plays sometimes as the emergency big, Tillman would have no role.  This would also work if you sent them Queta over Tillman.  It is still a nice upgrade to get Kessler over Queta.

Kessler was my dream target but I just think other teams are more desperate for him and could outbid us for him (Lakers, etc).

I?d have no problem giving up two future 1sts for him. I could see him as a legit center for us long term post-Horford and maybe KP.

I don't think it works salary wise with Tillman, as we'd be bringing back more salary than we send out.  Plus, Scheierman in theory has some potential as a recent first, which might be intriguing to Utah.

(I still wish we'd taken Kyle Filipowski.)

Does two #1s, a high second, and Scheierman get it done?

I hadn't realized that we own Washington's #2 this year.

Yeah, and I would do it.

Depends what other teams would offer though and if our offer is good enough compared to them.

That?s why I?ve been on the ?Springer + 2 future second rounders for Day?Ron Sharpe?. He?s probably more realistic for us.

I haven't watched him play much.  I guess my concern is, if he's any good why hasn't he broken out of that 12 to 15 mpg role over the course of his career?  Plus, his FG% is horrid this season.

Knowing Danny, he wants to fleece us to get the better end of a deal. Tread carefully when dealing with Danny lol

I don?t see why Danny would want to trade Kessler, who is currently their starting center. He?s 23 years old and is making a low salary this year and next before becoming a RFA.

I don't know why, either, except that his name is constantly in trade rumors and reported discussions.

I still wish we had taken Desmond Bane and Brandon Clarke.
Still don't understand why we did not.

I agree, Scheierman might be of some interest/value to Utah, but if we did this, we would still need another move to balance the roster.  I guess we could try to sign Walker so we end up losing Springer and Scheierman and add Mykhailiuk and Walker.  Mykhailiuk becomes our 5th wing (after Hauser and Walsh) and Walker becomes our 4th guard (Davison becomes the 5th guard).
