The man deserves a thread. Payton is averaging 16pts, 3rebs, 3ast, 1stl. He?s shooting 49% from the field, 43% from 3pt and 84% from the line. It?s incredible how well Pritchard is playing this year. Thank god Brad signed him to that extension.  :)

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I agree. What is also impressive is that he almost doubles his 3PA from 4.7 last year to 8.6 now and still improves his 3P% from 38.5% to 43%. Talking about an efficient volume shooter.

He is a perfect player for Joe's offensive philosophy.

  • On To Banner 19!
Pritchard could lowkey be an all-star on at least 1/3 of the teams in the NBA this season

He's averaging 16/3/3 while being our 6th man. As a regular starter he probably could be a 20/5/5 guy with elite 3-point shooting lol

Now after Banner 19, in the off season do you trade True and his 32,400,000 salary (25 - 26 season) to get under the 2nd apron and maybe more importantly from the owners perspective - greatly reduce luxury taxes?

This would clear the way for PP (7.2 million) to start, and free up some time for other bench players .  I am just a little nervous about True's production falling off as he ages.

It's like the basketball gods were like "Sorry, you just missed on Herro last year, here you go with Pritchard"

In terms of distance and effectiveness, PP is at the top of the league. White isn't far behind.

Pritchard has had 4 seasons prior to this one where he was pretty steady, career average of 8.3 pts/gm with a high for a season of 9.6 pts/gm.  Now all of the sudden, he is averaging 16.5 pts/gm.  Minutes are up some, 28.4 min compared to last season at 22.3.  Shot attempts are up (11.5 from 7.7) and 3PA in particular (8.9 from 4.7).  Current 3P% is 43.2% as compared to career average of 40.1%.

You don't very often see this type of jump in production in the 5th season, especially considering that he was a 22 year old rookie.  He has been a solid player all along.  Even his rookie season he put up 7.7 pts with 41.1% 3P%.  Normally I would not expect this level to continue for a player experiencing such a sudden jump, but you get the feeling that this is something he can sustain.

You remember those contending Dallas teams with Dirk years ago? They always had certain roles and positions filled, but they were at their best when JJ Barea came off the bench. You look at his stats and think, "He's a short white guy. Come playoff time we should be able to handle him with taller, athletic defenders." And yet every playoffs, he would make huge plays and be able to run an effective offense with some of the starters on the bench.

Pritchard is a better version of Barea, because he can also stretch the floor on a level with some of the best guards in the NBA.

There's no selfishness or jealousy from anyone. Everyone is just genuinely happy to have a guy like Pritchard, because his endless aggressiveness and shooting makes the game easy for any of the other 4 teammates. That's why they want him shooting and having a great season, because it takes the pressure off and makes the game easier on everyone.

And we have him locked up on a contract that is essentially a rookie contract for the 8th or 9th overall pick in last year's draft.

This team is so much fun.

His contract is unbelievable. You can make a strong argument for it being the best contract in the nba.

Isiah has the Celtics record for three pointers with 245. Payton is going to destroy that record.
