At That time, they are already thinking of possible replacement for AH, I was hoping that  C's  would draft TJD as I saw him play much like Sabonis,  a possible replacement for Al retirement but Celtics instead drafted Jordan Walsch who up to now has not proven anything worthy. Celtics later on traded for Xavier Tillman to back up Horford.

would you be able to explain who TJD is. you might also want to explain who walsch is as well.  ;D

heck, why not go all in and give actual reasons and stats that prompted you to post this. that would all be helpful.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I?m guessing the thread starter is referring to Trayce Jackson Davis? He?s starting for the Warriors now.

TJD can?t shoot 3?s, so he wouldn?t have been a replacement for Horford.

We should have drafted both, instead of trading away our other second rounder to Atlanta.

Second Round is always a total crapshoot.

Also, Jordan is actually progressing quite well. Good attitude.

Yes, I don't think you can criticize anyone for whiffing on a second rounder. They're always hit and miss. Think of all the teams that whiffed on Jokic

29 teams will always miss in any NBA draft for a given player once you get to the second round. It is what it is.

For a second, I thought we were revisiting the Jiri Welsch era.

Jordan is only 20 years old.  he's shown already he can hang on the defensive end of the floor.  The kid has great energy, quick hands and can really move his feet to guard 1 - 3.  his 3pt shot looks much better but he needs more PT.  I expect him to be in the rotation next year with another year of further development.  As of right now I don't think he's a bust but he's also not a hit just yet.

Did we miss on a draft pick?  Sure, every team misses on picks.  So common that it isn't even worth fretting about.

Yup. As long as Boston doesn't miss on first-rounders, especially top-5 picks, we're good. If they'd drafted Fultz instead of Tatum, we'd be right to complain about that, lol.

What's funny of course is that like 90% of celtic fans were ecstatic about fultz.  But yeah, if we had drafted him we'd still be complaining because that is what we do =P.

Assuming this post is referring to Trayce Jackson Davis, its a hard comparison to make. Jordan Walsh is 20, TJD is 24. Walsh isn't getting regular minutes here but I'm not sure TJD would either.

2nd round picks are also crap-shoots, I wouldn't get too worked up over how they go. Maybe 1 in 10 work out.

But also, TJD went like 57th. If they really wanted him they could have drafted both Walsh and him, but they traded #39 to the Hawks for a future second instead.

Missed big time?  It's technically a miss since we drafted Walsh before a guy who looks better than him.  But no GM in history will pass that test consistently, especially in the second round.  And big time?  Absolutely not.

I'm not particularly high on Walsh because of the complete lack of offense, but it's worth remembering that the guy is 20 and making peanuts.  He doesn't have to contribute very much to be worthwhile, and he has up to three seasons to make that happen.
