Through the first 7 games Pritchard is averaging 15.7 ppg, playing about 28 mpg. He's hitting a scorching (but not unsustainable) 44% from 3 and looking really confident in his minutes.

If Pritchard ends the season averaging 15 ppg for a top 3 team, he's going to be a decent bet for 6MOY.

Agreed! I do think he can keep his 3p% above 40. And with a team of strong defenders, we can hide him and give him enough pt to perform. He?s surpassed my expectations this year.

Wait until sam kicks it into gear.  He's shooting 32% from 3.  It's a scary thought to see this team healthy and kicking o. All cylinders.

I liked watching Pritchard in some of his college games. He wasn't mentioned as a likely first round pick as I remember, but he was so clutch. Just really comfortable performing under pressure. So I was really surprised and happy when the Celtics picked him as a late first. Pritchard was one of my binkies. I hope he'll stay a Celtic for a long time. Our backcourt rotation of White, Holiday and Pritchard is amazingly good and balanced. But perhaps there'll be interest by some really strong teams like Minnesota, Oklahoma City or Orlando where Pritchard would also be a great fit as a starter.

Luckily for us, we don't have to worry about that for a few years. He makes 8.3 million in the final year of his contract in 27-28. It was a great deal to lock him up for our team.

Brad has killed it with the rookie extensions. Danny almost never did on non-max players and it led to us losing/overpaying guys a lot of the time. Brad has been willing to get the deals done while the players are cheap and that's huge for us going forward.

It can be risky if the player doesn't end up working out, but we're in a place where that risk is nothing compared to just losing them for nothing
I'm bitter.

I did like it when he attacked the closeout last night.   I do not like the stepback shot.   I did enjoy the stepback assist.

The performances by Pritchard are top level. An interesting statistic is win shares (source: https://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2025_advanced.html). Taking 1.4 WS as a minimum the list of 21 players qualified looks like this, in order per position (Curry and Lillard would have also made the list if they hadn't missed a couple of games):

Guards: Gilgeous-Alexander, White, Irving, Garland, Pritchard, Booker
Forwards: Tatum, Antetokounmpo, J.Williams, James, DeRozan, Powell
Bigs: Jokic, Sabonis, Towns, Davis, Allen, Vucevic, Sengun, Mobley, Gobert

Tatum, White and Pritchard(!!!) in some nice company.

I posted on Celtics Blog when Pritchard was a rookie, I am not savvy with this site to find it, comparing Prichard to John Stockton and Steve Nash out of college.  All 3 were 4 year college player, similar size etc.  I know it sounded outlandlish at the time to compare him to 2 HOF players, but it you compare their stats through their first 5 seasons, they are very similar, especially compared to Nash, less assists than Stockton but scoring comparable.  As he keeps growing as a player, does anyone else see these as comparable?  Too early to tell?
