I know they've won Game 7s in the past, but it's funny how a lot of these Game 7s involving Westbrook and Harden seem to end in blowout losses for either guy. Even last round, Westbrook got a blowout win but against Harden's team. Now Westbrook about to be eliminated in a blowout Game 7 loss. Similar story in their careers too.

It is surprising how little DEN has used Jalen Pickett in this series. He was one of their better bench players in the regular season. Smart player. Shoots okay. Has some ball-handling. Solid size combo guard. Can defend okay.

With all the small lineups OKC uses, Pickett would have matched up well against their combo guards & SGs.

Westbrook had a terrible game. An uncharacteristic game from him. He often has bad games but he rarely has games were he looks afraid to make plays. He was so scared of screwing that he ended up passing up opportunities and then making worse plays afterwards.

2-7 FGA 4 turnovers for 6pts 2ast in 22min.

J Murray gave them a bit of a lift in Q3.

He was 2-8 for 4pts at halftime.
He went 4-8 for 9pts in Q3.

No Jokic though. Only 3pts from him since halftime.
No A Gordon scoring since halftime. 4 TOs now.
MPJ got 2 buckets. Only 6pts in 23min.

C Braun 19pts. 12 at halftime. 7 in 2nd half. C Braun and J Murray have led the way for DEN in 2nd half. C Braun the only guy to show up in both halves for DEN.

Quite a few of these elimination games this postseason have just been dominant blowouts. Unfortunately we also lost by 38 a few days ago. Now DEN is down 35+

Denver couldn't keep the ball away from Caruso.  I don't know how he 'only' has three steals because it felt like he caused even more turnovers than that.  The constant slapping at Jokic the ball really took Denver out of their game.

Strange lineup from DEN after they gave up on the game

G: Pickett
G: Strawther
F: H Tyson
F: P Watson
C: Z Nnaji

No real PG. No playmaker. DEN need to get a 3rd string PG to play behind Westbrook & J Murray.

This is probably the toughest challenge OKC will face this postseason. I don't see any of the remaining teams as a legit threat, not even Indiana despite their style of play. OKC also has HCA and the best player remaining in every series to go along with a great defense and formidable (and healthy) frontcourt. Some of the remaining teams have glaring flaws too.

Timberwolves were 3-2 vs the Thunder this season. They matchup very well with OKC and are a legit threat.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I was looking at the Minny vs OKC regular season matchups. They had a 2-2 split. 3 close games. 1 double digit OKC win.

But Randle played only 1 game.
And Gobert played only 1 game.

Naz Reid was huge against OKC. He had 22ppg 11rpg 2bpg. I can see Minny going to him and their 2nd unit lineups a lot in order to provide better spacing to cope with OKC's harassing defenses.

Ant struggled in the season series. He averaged 22ppg but only 36% FG 32% 3PT. He did live at the FT line getting 9 FTAs per game to 18 FGAs. He added 9rpg 6apg.

Shai terrorized Minnesota. 35ppg 51% FG. 12 FTAs to 22 FGA per game. 7rpg 7apg. J-Dub played well 20ppg 7apg 5rpg. Chet played only 2 games but looked like he did well in those games 15ppg 8rpg 2.5bpg. Caruso played 2 games missed 2 games. Hartenstein 10ppg 9rpg 25mpg. OKC scored over 110 points in all 4 games.
