Doncic gets introduced last by the starting lineup announcer. Thought it would be LeBron, but I guess it?s Lukas team now.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Curry has come alive again in the past week. The Butler trade has helped and he's done well, but Curry heating up is kind of scary for the West.

I enjoy watching Lebron whip no-look inaccurate passes at 100 MPH and then glare at his teammates when they don't catch them.  'S fun.

No Giannis tonight.

Though that'll be a good thing for Curry and it will be the Western Conference's problem. Don't mind taking another shot at the Warriors for revenge at the end.

Lakers up 25 at halftime. Still can?t believe the Mavs made the trade and AD going down that quick makes it even worse.  :blank:

And can't believe Danny Ainge facilitated that trade and now his Jazz is also getting ripped to shreds by the very team he aided.

Reminds me of Ainge facilitating the Rasheed Wallace trade to Detroit in 2004. Set up a rival Eastern Conference to dominate.

Max Christie = 4 games since the trade.

He has scored 15pts in 3 of the games and 23pts in the 4th one. 17ppg. He has played 32, 30, 33, 35 minutes. So he is getting a lot of playing time. Averaging another 3 assists per game. 5.2 rebounds per game. He has 3 steals and 3 blocks in the 4 games.

He has been shooting the ball very well. He is 21-41 FGA 11-19 3PTA. So he will cool off some. The driving opportunities and layups / dunks he has been getting look like they should remain. He is getting lots of open lanes in Dallas. The outside shooting should cool off though.

Reminds me more of Chris Wallace, also Cs exGM basically handing championships to LAL when he gave away Pao for what appeared to be nothing.  It almost doesn?t matter that Memphis eventually did ok, it was a Celtic giving the Lakers a piece that brought championships to LA. Here we are again. Will now suffer Laker contention for the next decade. This will eventually give the Lakers the edge in championships.

Orlando lose again. To Atlanta.

They have been dropping a lot of games. They were 23-20. Now 26-29. So they have only won 3 of their last 12 games. 9 losses in 12. They have Franz Wagner and Banchero back as well. No Suggs though.

They are 20-15 in the 35 games Suggs has played. So 3-14 without Suggs. Wow, that is a huge difference.

Just watched some of the highlights from Luka's debut with the Lakers. Man, those fans were pumped for Luka. They were ready to jump out of their seat at anything he did. So excited and rightly so.

James Worthy was saying this was the atmosphere before the game even started. All Lakers fans were so excited. That Luka is not just a player for the next 3-4 years but the next 10-12 years. This was a franchise altering trade. Both for LAL (positively) and for DAL (negatively).

Jimmy was on the floor for maybe 4 minutes, and he attracted a double team on the post. That?s the first non-Steph double I?ve seen in YEARS.

I don't think this move is getting enough attention. I love this addition for GSW. I expect to have them back in the title mix.

Love how JJ said "with our 3 guys" referring to Bron, Luka and AR. Dude has ultimate faith in AR instead of benching him like Ham

If AR15 can maintain his play of the last 2 months, how much difference is there between AR15 and Kyrie Irving? As Luka's long term running mate.

Reaves has been putting up 21ppg 7apg on 61% TS% for the last 2 months now.

Hot streak? Or breakout campaign?

I wonder if Reaves will get lost behind Luka & LeBron. I hope he can keep going as a 16-18+ppg guy on strong efficiency.

De'Aaron Fox

30pts on 7-14 FGA 15-18 FTA. This guy is going to be a terror of a scorer on that Spurs team.

His combo with Wemby is reminding me a bit of a young Steph Marbury and Kevin Garnett. That KG was the best player but was more comfortable with Steph as the clutch scorer. Same later on with Sam Cassell. KG was the ultimate faciliator for everyone else and a very good scorer in his own right.

I wonder if Wemby & Fox will have a similar dynamic while Wemby continues to develop his one-on-one game. Wemby likely needing a bit more muscle to get where he wants to go on the court. He is letting the defense dictate too much to him right now and settling for too many long shots. His effectiveness depending on whether his outside shot is on or off.

I see Wemby as similar to Garnett in terms of his defensive impact and the defense having to be aware of him everywhere he is on the offensive side of the floor. That he can get 20-25ppg regularly and get lots of defensive attention while freeing up his scoring PG (Fox, Marbury, Cassell) to be their bucket getter / shot creator.

One of the things I still find unbelievable is that the Lakers kept Austin Reaves on an MLE deal when he was a restricted free agent.  I said at the time that it was ridiculous that no other team signed him to an offer sheet.  Yes, the Lakers probably would have matched, but they'd be paying him a lot more money if he'd gotten a fair value contract.

It does make me wonder if agents are less cutthroat with the Lakers because they'll be rewarded in some other way.
