Someone I know tried to register a CelticsStrong account for the first time and apparently they are unable to, is this a widespread issue?

I have been having trouble logging in for a long time and magically I was able to log in for the first time in forever.

During that time I tried to rest password but never got an email. I also tried to make a new account using a different email, but never got an email then.

So like Redz mentioned we may not be able to

I don't believe we've been able to add new users since we switched over.  I don't know anything about the technical aspect, but I think it was part of the trade off of having this page look like old one.  I'm thinking I could set someone up with credential for an obviosuly defunct app somehow and they could edit the info once they have access.  If you want to pm the person's email that could be a work around.

Just let me know what his user name is and I'll try to activate him manually.

There are multiple issues:

1.  For whatever reason, our email activation system doesn't work.  The site doesn't generate emails, so there's no email verification.

2.  We're seeing about a 100-to-1 or more spammer-to-new member ratio, meaning we can't allow everybody that wants to sign up without verification.

3.  Theoretically a staff member can activate somebody, but usually it's impossible to tell spammers from actual new members.

It's the consequence of using broken software.

Thanks, Roy and Redz. Appreciate your efforts!

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.
