Vince comes nowhere close to Ant-Man's playoff record.

He comes nowhere close to Kobe's either, which was the original comparison.  I still see more of the Carter comparison.

Ant Man's playoff record is better than young Kobe.

He is already more advanced than Kobe from 1996-2000. Then 2001 & 2002 Kobe is a debate.

Kobe was an 18yr old rookie in 1997. Not much impact. The 5 air balls late in the deciding game against Utah. 8ppg in 15mpg in the playoffs. In 1998, he was 6th man of the Year and an All-Star. He had an injury in the first round. Came back later. Struggled in WCF against Utah. 9ppg in 20mpg in 11 games.

1999 is his breakout playoff campaign. 20yrs old. He outplays an old Scottie Pippen in the first round. Then his team gets smashed by the Spurs in the 2nd round. 20ppg 7rpg 4.6apg on 43% FG% 50.2% TS%.

In 2000, they win the Finals with Kobe as the 2nd best player on the team. Shaq the most dominant player in the league. Kobe 21ppg 4.5rpg 4.5apg 1.5spg 1.5bpg 44% FG% 51.7% TS%.

Ant-Man has surpassed all those markers.

You look at Ant-Man's record. His team has made the playoffs in 3 of his 4 seasons. They lost in the first round twice. They made it the Conference Finals with him as their best player which Vince never achieved.

You look at Ant-Man's individual performance levels in the playoffs. 25ppg 4rpg 3apg on 60.4% TS% as 20yr old. 31.6ppg 5rpg 5.2apg 1.8spg 2.0bpg against the Nuggets who would go on to win the Championship. Then last year he had two great series in the first round and second round beating quality teams in PHX and DEN before struggling in the WCF. Overall, he averaged 27.6ppg 7.0rpg 6.5apg 1.5spg on 59.8% TS%.

60% TS% on 27.8ppg across 3 seasons 5 playoff series 27 career playoff games.

Vince comes nowhere close to Ant-Man's playoff record.
Are you really going to compare TS% for guys who started their careers 20 years apart? Ant would have gotten his smug little head ripped off in the late 90's and the aughts.

Agreed with this - I think you need to compare the TS% vs their contemporaries to make this case, rather than a raw 1-1 evaluation.

Ant feels like someone who is going to end up being "destructive" to his team. His ego and attitude might end up hurting him in the long run. And I'm usually one of those who loves competitive players like that but I think Ant takes it a little too far even beefing with previous generations. Butler was sort of the same until Riley seemingly put him in his place this past offseason, because Butler was also trash talking guys and teams constantly and displaying a big ego up until last year even while he was hurt and not helping his own team.

Adjusted TS% exists, which normalizes TS% such that league average in a given year is 100.  Ant has been below 100 every year in the regular season (they don?t track the stat in the playoffs because some teams play more games than others, which messes up with averages).  Vince was above 100 in his first three years, and at 99 his fourth season.

The Celtics are reportedly adding a former Massachusetts high-school standout to their roster.

Boston signed 6-foot-9 forward Hason Ward to an Exhibit 10 contract, according to his agency. Ward hails from St. Thomas, Barbados, but attended high school at Springfield Central where he put himself on the radar of Division I programs due to his size and shot-blocking capabilities.

Ward was a force during his high school career, blocking 22 shots in one game as a junior with the Golden Eagles. He averaged 10.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks during his senior year at Springfield Central before moving on to the collegiate ranks. The athletic big man spent five total seasons in college, logging his first three years at Virginia Commonwealth University before transferring to Iowa State for two years.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Why now? No games, final roster will be set in 2 days, season starts next Tuesday. What is going on?

Nothing wrong with taking a look at a prospect during practice time. Help fast track them to the Red Claws.

Yeah, this is essentially a signing to fill out the Maine roster.

I don't think they'll be in the running for either.

Bobby Manning: Sources: #Celtics waived Ron Harper Jr., Jay Scrubb and Hason Ward today. All three likely Maine bound. Lonnie Walker IV remains on the roster for now. Deadline to make a decision on him is 5PM on Saturday. via Twitter RealBobManning

Hmm?Brad is probably trying to cook up a deal that would allow us to keep Lonnie and the 15th slot open. I think Springer is the guy to be dealt if ever. If no deal is made then Lonnie probably goes to Maine where any team can pick him up? Interesting next few hours ahead.

It's logical why we'd want to dump Springer.  I just can't imagine anybody will take him for a cost that we find reasonable.
