It's early but man Boise State's O-Line is getting wrecked. Jeanty can't do anything so far. Kind of feels like shades of TCU vs. Georgia where it's men vs. boys in the trenches (O-Lines/D-Lines)

So like the Patriots?

Boise is doing a lot better now though. Passing game is surprisingly sophisticated. They still have a decent chance to win.

Yep, much much better from Boise State since I called them out. My specialty

I'm curious to see where Jeanty goes in the Draft. I've seen so many mocks that have him at various spots, hard to tell.

I understand why the Georgia v Notre Dame was postponed. However, I truly have no idea why it went from a prime time slot of 8:30 to being relegated to a 4:00 start. Most people were off on January 1st and could enjoy all the bowl games. But most people go back to work on January 2nd. I may be able to only watch the second half of the game now. Then again, only one of these playoff games was even competive, so by the time most people get home from work (on the East coast), the game may be out of reach. The people working on the West coast will miss the game entirely.

What is surprising the most is why ESPN, who have the television rights, agreed to the time change. They have to be losing millions of dollars in advertising revenue with this no longer being a prime time game. Then again, that's assuming the advertisers will be paying a reduced rate.

Both teams asked for it so they'll get a bit more rest / preparation time if they move on.

Yup.  I also have read that the Gator Bowl has something in their contract guaranteeing an exclusive primetime slot so the Sugar Bowl needed to be shoehorned into the late afternoon slot.

If Notre Dame wins, then none of the 1-4 seeds will have made the semifinals lol

Either it was too much rest, or they weren't deserving of the higher seed to begin with. Unfortunately, Georgia is playing with their backup QB, so you could be right.

I think it's the latter tbh. I do like all the additional representation in the playoffs and you're hearing more of great players that you normally wouldn't like Jeanty and Skattebo, but the reality is most of these teams like Texas, Penn State, etc. are just better than the likes of Arizona State, Boise State, SMU, etc. But AZ State deserves a ton of credit, they nearly upset Texas.

Funny enough though, I wonder when we talk about the home field advantage. What if teams like AZ State, Boise State, and Oregon in this round weren't playing in neutral sites and were at their home stadiums? Could that have made a major impact? Like if Penn State was playing AT Boise State (not a neutral site) could they have been upset maybe. People last round did debate if HFA was unfair for the road teams.

I think they?re probably going to start doing a reseed next year, so the weaker teams would probably be on the road in the future.

I know that?s a lot more of a disadvantage but I love the atmosphere of the home games so I?d be all for it.  I also think reseeding is the right thing to do.  Conference winners get an automatic bid but an automatic bye and home field should go to the higher ranked teams

An absolutely great Orange Bowl game between Notre Dame and Penn State. Hopefully tomorrow night's game and the championship game cone close to being this competitive.

Carson Beck entered the portal.  He's still declared for the draft for now but speculation is he'll return for 1 more year probably for Miami.

He needs to improve his draft status.

Yes and he's injured so he can't do it during workouts.  Before this NIL era, he would have gone the draft route anyway but the money is too good in college now.

College sports are soon to experience another major change with revenue sharing with athletes starting July 1.  The 1st year number reportedly will be up to $20.5 million per school.  Schools will be able to decide how they want to split the money across their different sports programs but football and men's basketball will obviously get the lion's share.

University of Houston is looking to go all-in even though they have the smallest athletic budget amongst P4 schools.

I hate Ohio State.  Pulling hard for the Irish.

Bad play calling killed Texas.  Just run it up the gut four times if you have to.
