Batum has had a very quiet game.

This is probably the lineup I trust the most for France.

G: De Colo
G: Cordinier
F: Fournier
F: Wemby
C: Gobert

I like the double big of Wemby & Gobert. De Colo and Fournier are still their most skilled perimeter players and they are struggling to get any perimeter creation from anybody. So I like them here. They are responding well. Cordinier has been their most consistent wing.

I'd love to get Yabu in there somewhere. He could sub in for any of Cordinier, Fournier or Gobert. Those would be my main 6 guys heading down the stretch for France. Maybe a little Strazel or Ntilikina to give De Colo a rest which he'll need at some point.

I don't know about that. Commentators talking about the game being a dog-fight and credit to Team USA for not underestimating France.

Looks to me like Team USA is playing at 80% and cruising along. If they pushed up a notch, they'd blow this France team out of water. Not playing seriously enough.

Hmm ... they came back with Lessort instead of Yabu.

Nice to see Lessort beat up Durant instead. NBA guys show Durant too much fear in post ups. The guy is skinny. Beat his ass. He can't stop anyone inside.

FIBA players are much better at taking advantage physically than NBA players are today. You could see this with Haliburton. He was fine defensively when he was playing against NBA players in FIBA basketball but he was dead in the water once he had to defend some Euros. Too skinny. Too weak. Couldn't switch on anyone. Dead man walking.

I don't like this lineup for France. Batum & Coulibaly together on the wings. Too passive and limited on offense. Bad lineup.

Now they have gone back to this terrible lineup with no ball-handlers

G: Fournier
G: Coulibaly
F: Batum
F: Wemby
C: Lessort

Play pressure defense. Force turnovers. Those perimeter guys cannot initiate the offense. They cannot handle the ball against pressure. Only Batum can and he is too slow. Get up under him. Create turnovers.

France's scrambling defense giving Team USA easy opportunities. Not taking advantage.

Wow. Small run here for France. They are actually making a game of this late. US failing to finish them off. Now making mistakes.

I always think of C-Webb's Sacramento Kings when a team chokes away a game at the FT line.

France 10-17 FTA

Oh god, antoher terrible 3 by Wemby.

That is at least his 3rd terrible three pointer today.

They are practically turnovers.
